Good deal for the Wolves I think. Great deal for the L*kers if #2 is what they needed to get Howard or whatever.
hmm i would think bynum would be more enticing to orlando than #2...also, do the wolves need to match salary? could be martell and flynn
Re: #2 offered up for Vagynum I don't know that Johnson can play the 2... and I have even greater doubts that LA would do this. Ed O.
The only way this makes sense is if Orlando is willing to trade Howard to LA and wants the #2 pick rather than Bynum. I don't know why they would, especially in this draft, but I guess you never know. I still kinda doubt that LA really is interested.
This guy is pretty legit. He broke the Carmelo-to-NY stuff before any of the national media. He's more of a NHL guy but he covers the Knicks better than any of the Blazers beatwriters.
The Blazers beatwriters are busy. Covering the Blazers. Does he cover the Lakers or Timberwolves better than those teams' writers do? That is the question Ed O.
Howard will be a Laker. It's a matter of when. Howard wants to be the top dog in the west since he knows the only show in Florida is now the Heat. I could see LA trading Bynum getting the #2 trading that with Gasol for Howard.... Course they still need a PG.... For 3mill they might be able to buy a pick and grab a Kemba Walker.... Who knows but the Lakers wont be down for long.
That was rumored for the entire season. Did anybody actually "break" that news? Carmelo himself even talked about NY while playing in Denver, and was never fined for it somehow, while Rudy was fined for something his agent said.
Doesn't Gasol make 17 and change and Howard make 18 and change... LA offers the #2 and I bet Orlando bites on that. Atleast the Magic get a good 7 footer and the #2 for that trade... Don't know any team can offer them anything better...
On a side note the way the Lakers left the playoffs and the way Bynum spoke about not trusting each other out there... My thoughts were his days were #'d and he knew it. I think Howard and Kobe have already worked this one out.... We'll see!
If LA ends up giving up both Gasol and Bynum to get Howard, I don't think they'll be a better team. Kobe is past his prime and only going to decline further. They'll still be good, but they won't be great. The greater threat is if LA can get Howard for just Bynum at the trade deadline, because Bynum is many, many times better value than losing Howard as a free agent.
Good analysis. You just connected the dots, I think. LAL will have that #2 and draft for Orlando. Howard is going to be a Laker.
