Ben likes to dunk with both hands STOMP
This is another great get for the Ducks. He is a high 3*, possibly low 4* before it's all said and done 27th best power forward in the country. 3rd best player in state of Nevada. According to ESPN.
If that is true, Altman is a witch...er warlock. That kid is being recruited by real basketball schools like Georgetown, Arkansas and Baylor. If things pan out, and Brown stays two years+, this team is going to be freakishly good. I mean they aren't even good, and they are pulling 4 and 5 star kids By the way, I am taking 100% credit for the signing of this kid. I played in the same gym as him about a month ago. I had on my Ducks stuff, and he saw me and asked where I got the stuff from. Anywho, after talking a bit after his team of young athletic black kids beat the shit out of my team of 40+ out of shape white men, I told him the best way to get cool Ducks stuff is to go there.
wow I thought I was gonna come in here and post the news just now, and be all badass and you guys have been on it for 3+ hours! Good work guys!
haha! Well that was nice of you guys to take it easy on him and his team so The Ducks could have a chance at him
I am all for throwing a game I had no chance in hell of winning anyway to get a quality kid to go to Oregon
Not that optimistic on this Ben kid - but, hopeful to be proven wrong. Great size but doesn't seem very strong or aggressive. I foresee him getting pushed around big time at the next level. He only avg 10 points a game in HS. Couldn't find his RB stats but just don't see him being very competitive or dominate. http://www.lasvegassun.com/sports/boys_basketball/athletes/ben-carter/
First game tonight, anyone going to watch? With no Blazers for perhaps the whole season, i may actually watch Duck's basketball for the first time since Aaron Brooks was here. Oregon Tech is cool down here, but isn't on tv.
Me too. It's on some DirecTV channels in the sports' package, but I don't think it's on locally in Portland?
I was going to start a thread on this, but Sports Illustrated also projects the Ducks into the field of 68 as a 12 or 13 seed. If Altman can do that with 8 new players, I say give the man a lifetime contract!
They got a kid named Jeff Taylor who's a stud SF. Maybe the best defensive wing in the nation. Jenkins is a lights out shooter. They also have Oregon City's own Brad Tinsley as a Senior PG this year. Veteran team, Oregon might be in trouble.
I'll be watching my Zags play EWU. But, checking up on the Ducks periodically. Glad college b-ball is underway!
Too much Commodores. Jenkins hit 7 treys and Taylor showed why he's going to be an All-American. Whats your take MediogreMan?
It's all about ball control. I think someone in the ESPN comments said it best. We shot 9% better from the field than they did, but had, what, 20 fewer scoring opps? (-12 on turnovers, -8 on offensive rebounds) Tough to win a game that way.
You didnt watch the game then. It was a blowout. 20 points down for a large chunk of the game. A late little run at the end made it look closer than it actually was.
