<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>John Salmons is free to choose his preferred destination, either Toronto or Phoenix, according to Sixers GM Billy King. Once Salmons decides, Salmons will be signed and traded. The Suns are offering a five-year contract worth about $22 million. Toronto is making a more lucrative five-year pitch. With Phoenix, Philadelphia would get a trade exception worth half of the $3.6 million one the Suns would use to make the deal. Phoenix can start Salmons' contract at $3.7 million because it is a sign-and-trade deal. The Raptors' offer is substantially more. Toronto has money, playing time and proximity to his home in its favor, but the Suns are a title contender and have emphasized to Salmons that he would have an important role with the team. Salmons, at 6 feet 6, would back up Steve Nash and both wing positions. "I think we may be looking back, and people will be writing, 'Gee, they had that guy,' " King told the Philadelphia Daily News. "But I think for Johnny a change of scenery is probably best. I think whichever team (he chooses) will be a great situation for him."</div>Congrats CB4 now your team might the your so called PG. I hope he does sign w/ your team just so you can see he isn't the player that you seem to think he is.http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives..._raptors_today/

^haha. he'd be pretty dumb to go to Toronto tho. Playing with Steve Nash might actually make him seem like a decent player.

Honestly, I don't know why he hasn't made the decision already. I'd much rather play in PHX, especially with his skill set, he would absolutely THRIVE in the Suns' system. He will back-up Nash, as well as the two wing positions. He has the ball-handling skills and looks (somewhat) to get to the hole instead of settling for the jumper (but he does settle at times). If he goes to Phoenix, Sixers fans will be crying come next year... quote me on that.

I don't see why he hasn't chosen yet either. His numbers will definetly go up there if he gets good playing time.

Even though the Raptors are offering more money, I don't think that he'll do as well as he would if he went to Phoenix. He'll definitely learn a lot more there playing with all the allstars over there and he'll probably actually have a decent career there.

It is actually a tough choice. More money and more playing time or playing for a contender and looking better than you really are in that offense. I hope he comes here. He would really help our bench and he can play 3 positions for us. We really need him to come. The Suns will not win with only 8 good players. 2 of which might choke in the playoffs, 2 old guys and Amare off knee surgery. [IMG] Anyways....I hate Sarver for not giving BC the contract he wanted. Colangelo is a good salesman and will get a bunch of players we want and Iavaroni too from the coaching staff next year. :no1:

John Salmons is going to get $23 million dollars and is picking between two teams....the NBA is getting ridiculous.

Salmons chose Toronto... and all the Sixers get in return is a second-round pick, as well as a $2 million trade exemption. I didn't want to match the five-year, $23 million deal, but jeez, that's nothing in return for him (granted he isn't that special of a player anyway).

Bryan Colangelo is a f*cking genius...picking up a average backup SG who can't shoot...Wow this guy isn't just hype he's all about results. I wish the Bucks would have picked up this gem. [IMG]

Wow. You are ignorant. We only had 1 SG last year, and that was Morris Peterson. I for one am glad that Colangelo was able to get us a solid SG off the bench who can score for us..

Wow I can't believe Slamons was really that stupid to choose the Raptors over the Suns. Well then more power to BC. I was hoping Slamons would go to Phoenix though. he could really flourish in there offense especially playing w/ Nash.

He gets more PT in Toronto, and we have a good future situation. Who knows? We might even make the playoffs next year..
