1 year. 1 mill. I think it is a solid move. 4th line center. Good on PK. Can score maybe 8-10 goals. Good on faceoffs as well.

Powe and Asham need to be in the minors now. Same with Pyatt or Boyle. One of them needs to be down as well.

Waste of a roster and cap space.

He's not going to get 15mins a game on this team (or if he does, it signals huge issues with the roster).

I disagree. If you look at it in its context 31 I like it. Forget the other BS. Forget the fact that we haven't made other moves. That is separate from this move. As a 4th line center he is solid.

Just think it means Powe, Asham, and 1 of Boyle or Pyatt needs to be gone/in the minors.

he had 2 yrs where he scored 10+gls while consistently getting 15+ mins a game, sometimes as high as 17, which he is notgetting here.

IF he replaces Boyle then it makes some sense b/c that saves $700K, but keeping both on the roster is stupid and would have used that $1M somewhere else.

We agree on that 31. Boyle or Pyatt has to go now. That is the deal. If they both stay then I am with you 100% on Moore. I am working under the thinking that Powe and Asham will be in the minors saving us 1.85 mill total. And either Pyatt or Boyle will be in the minors OR dealt away.

How do we afford that though? That is the question. Don't see it unless we can dump Boyle or Pyatt, and Raymond takes a lot less.

Depth is our goal. I truly believe what we are seeing is Sather saying we think depth was our issue. On D for sure, and upfront with no real 4th line. So they are focusing on that, and think we have enough higher talent to get it done with the extra depth on D and upfront for the 3rd and 4th lines.

    We'll see.

Why do they insist on doubling up the same positions? Now you have to do something with Boyle(which I don't mind)but you also block Lindberg and use up cap space that could've been used on a Raymond. Wow.

Moore at 1 year, 1 million is not bad. I don't like the guy but I have to admit, his playoffs were very good after a while. To me when you are a 4th line guy and you score 4 goals in the playoffs, you have overachieved in the playoffs. I remember him being dangerous come playoff time. He is good on draws. Wins about 52 to 55% of his draws. Ehhhh. This might be a move to setup a trade of Boyle.

All about the next move. We all agree that if Pyatt or Boyle aren't dealt/sent down this makes no sense. That is why I believe something else will happen here. I am confident about that. Only thing that makes sense.

Take out Powe, Asham, Boyle or Pyatt and add in Moore and a kid or two from Miller/Lindberg/Fast.

That is what I see coming. And maybe trying to add a vet if we can make a deal.

I agree. If you look at this deal based on this deal alone, good move. He is a solid 4th line center. We have a real good 4th line now. And good center depth.

Now I expect other moves involving Pyatt and/or Boyle.

We don't have enough scoring. We can improve the depth of the 3rd/4th lines it has been a problem but until we land a top 6 forward I am not going to be drinking the Ranger Kool aid

They should be filling in 4th liners with cheap rookies. Lindberg will provide the same if not better stats than Moore will. Any little remaining cap space they have(had) should all go to the best 3rd line player they can get. Dumb imo.

we completely agree, Dis....we had a chance to get a top3 forward in Ryan but instead we're playing musical chairs on the 4th line.

Not a huge fan but you have to feel for the guy after he had to basically watch his wife die of a horrible disease.

Ill welcome him back, hopefully he can finally give us a good 4th line center.

    Boyle/Moore/Dorsett?

I agree with you guys also. That is the point here. The Moore signing was IMO a good one when you look at it by itself. The issue is we need another scorer. Moore doesn't address that. But I am also not going to hold it against the Moore signing for 1 mill that Sather hasn't added another scorer. That is on Sather.

You do realize that at 1 mill Moore will make just about the same amount as one of those kids make right? Maybe 300 K more tops.

All due respect, this is one of those times you focus on the small parts instead of the bigger picture. Moore is a good 4th line C. That helps us. It is not Moore's fault Sather hasn't added a scorer. And the kids will have places to play. No Cally or Hags to start the season guarantees that.

And I am sure Powe and Asham will be down. And either Boyle or Pyatt will be traded, or down as well.

yea i mean hes a role player that is fitting into a role. A 4th line, penalty killing center who is light years better than Powe....god, i still cant believe he had 0 points in almost 48 games last year

I get the salaries are a wash but if you are all about getting the younger guys going they may as well just use a Lindberg and save themselves a transaction. It's unnecessary imo. If they at least cut Boyle loose than it's ok. I like Moore, but there's no need for 3 possible #4C if you think Lindberg is ready.

But they will have spots. Adding a good solid 4th line C at a great price should be a separate discussion IMO sc.
