well, until Oregonlive.com runs Quick's stories which the national media picks up such as: Mo Williams unhappy with reduced role. LaMarcus Aldridge frustrated with lack of allstar recognition wants to play in major market etc etc etc. Its only a matter of time these MANUFACTURED stories start coming to the light of day and really fucking up what we have. He's a weasel, looking for the slightest opening of a story and if its not there, he'll make up shit.
Neither is really a reporter. Jaynes is a commentator. Quick is an informant. Quick's purpose is to tattle on players who don't follow Quick's ethics. He infiltrates the locker room with his fake smile, clings like a virus, accumulates for awhile what he thinks is dirt, then spreads it in an article like a farmer sprays an acre of manure fertilizer.
I don't think it's that complicated. Quick will latch onto any player that will feed him information. Players use Quick as a mouthpiece to further their own agenda, and Quick uses the players to make himself look better. It's a symbiotic relationship between slimy reporters and slimy players.
Your model held only for Damon Stoudamire. And maybe when Roy bragged that he had told someone (I forgot--GM? Coach?) that he couldn't play with Zach. Other than those two, I don't remember players voluntarily cooperating with Quick's little kid's game of "Smile, you were really on Candid Camera while I smiled and pretended to be your friend." Gotcha journalism.
I just clicked on the page where you read his posts. His negative remarks are accurate. Nothing wrong with him. Except for liking Jason Quick. Nobody likes Jason Quick. I think Carlito is pretending to like him.
Nate is the board enforcer. He's the one on duty now. He banned Mixum over the objection of another mod while the other mod was gone.
