Re: "Chess not Checkers" I have always wondered, because I've heard it so many times, wtf do people mean when they say "I play chess, not checkers"??? I have never understood that really. Can someone please help me out?
Re: "Chess not Checkers" I think it means that because chess is a game of stratagy that is quite hard and checkers seems easier, they are trying to imply some kind of intelligence.

Re: "Chess not Checkers" Yeah, in chess you have to be thinking like 5 moves ahead and consider every possibility on every move you make.
It's a paraphrasing a quote attributed to Whitey Bulger (when he went into business with the FBI's New England Organised Crime Strike Force). "If the Italians are playing checkers, we'll play chess", the logical response being "Yeah? Well I'm playing go, baby."
