LA clearly reads our forum on his ipad, and he got tired of Zags talking about setting a mean pick on Beverley.
From Elias: Prior to Aldridge on Sunday, the last player with at least 46 points and 18 rebounds in a postseason road win was Elgin Baylor in Game 5 of the 1962 Finals. Baylor had 61 points and 22 rebounds in the Lakers win over the Celtics. I dug his player card out of the grave on ESPN. http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/4135/elgin-baylor
I think there were two criteria though. On the road. First game of the series (or maybe it was the first game of the playoffs, not sure.)
Yeah, you're right, but I'm having fun digging this stuff up. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/196204140BOS.html
TrailBlazersPR @TrailBlazersPR LaMarcus Aldridge has a new Trail Blazers playoff franchise record with 46 points (45, Bonzi Wells, 4/23/03 at Dallas).
Maybe he's as sick of Beverley as we are, and wanted to put the wood on him. We'd all like to knock that fucker on his ass. Maybe shouldn't do it out in the open like that, though.
Now THAT was a POWERFORWARD playing last night! Over half his shot attempts in the paint! I can get down with that. Loved early on how he was playing garbageman on the offensive put-backs. Missed a few jumpers then took the ball into the paint and dominated. Fan-fucking-tastic!
I loved his adjustments and how he hid the 3 point shot till the playoffs. If he shoots 3s and goes inside like that all playoffs he'll be finals mvp
I wonder if they will start to run a few play next year that are a pick and pop to the 3 point line for LMA? I could handle 2-3 a game. It would be even better if he traded 2-3 mid ranges for in the post as well
I had no problem with that 1st 3 he took (corner). The second one was one of those "no no No No NO NOOOO YESSSSS" moments! The only problem with the corner 3 is that's the hardest spot on the floor to get back on defense from. But if he's open in the corner for a few more 3s this series I won't mind!
Something to think about: LA hit two three pointers. We won by 2 points. So if LA had stepped inside the three point line like he usually does, and hit a couple twos instead of a couple threes, we would be going to 2OT and who knows what happens.
