Their #1 is lotto protected for the next 2 years so you can pretty much guarantee they are "rebuilding" till 2016/17 at least

One NBA source tells @SNYtv Joel Embiid could fall to 6-10 because of the 'Greg Oden factor. 'GMs are afraid of a top 5 pick.' Twitter @AdamZagoria
No way he drops past 10, his upside is just to great. Im thinking Philly gets him at 3 actually. Wiggins will be gone and they can afford to swing for the fences on this pick with the current stage of rebuild and having Noel. Only question I would have is how do you bring along Noel and Embiid at the same time, but at this point they just acquire talent and figure that out later. They are probably getting another top 10 pick next year also anyway and could afford to sit Embiid all season.
I think taking him in round one is foolish. Bigs with injury history are bad news. There has to be a fan base out there that would know something about it to ask
Has he had any knee issues in the past? I can look past the foot injury. If he is not taken at 7 I kind of expect Lakers to take him
I think the Lakers will take Julius Randle or Noah Vonleh or Marcus Smart if he's there and thats if they keep the pick.
Couple of things I read about Embiid: “Any team that doesn’t take him is going to be [screwed] because he’s going to be great,” the source said. “He’s going to be great. He’s more talented and he can do more for a team than those other guys can do. He’s special. The dude is special. He’s had injuries, but he’s a stud. He’s an absolute stud. He will have more of an impact on an NBA game than any of the other guys in the draft — any of them. http://zagsblog.com/articles/source-any-team-that-doesnt-take-embiid-will-be-screwed/ * * * ESPN’s Brian Windhorst pointed out that Brook Lopez, Yao Ming and Bill Walton all had their careers harshly impacted by the same surgery that Embiid will have, but the source isn’t buying the comparison. Ford then pointed out that both Michael Jordan and Zydrunas Ilgauskas recovered fine from the injury. “He’s not as heavy as those guys. Those guys were much bigger as far as heaviness,” the source said of Ming and Walton. “And the medical situation in our country is 100 times better than what it was back with Walton. If you had an ACL in Walton’s days, your career was over. Now guy are coming back in seven months from ACLs. So trying to compare that is just bulls*&t
I don't. For the reasons Treaty of Batum listed below. He is going to be a great player. Lakers have always had a dominant big man. He's the next big thing. I like what I see out of him than what I see out of Howard.
