I disagree. LA causes havoc in how teams have to play us and creates easg opportunities for others on our team. Wiggins could become better then LA, infact I think he will be, but to say LA is easily replaceable with TRob and a trade piece, which coming from Cavs would either be Bennet or Thompson, is just wrong. Our team would take a huge step back for a few years and be in the lotto until our young pieces improved. Id definitely trade LA for Wiggins and Bennet or Thompson though, Wiggins is going to be really good.
How are we so quick to forget Aldridge's performance in the first couple of playoff games? Against Dwight Howard and Omer Asik, two of the best defensive bigs in the business? Show the man some respect on his birthday.
Why are we all so convinced Wiggins is a superstar in waiting? The only reason he went #1 is because Embiid - his own teammate, on a non-title team - was injured.
of the 3 guys mentioned in the thread, LaMarcus is king...Wiggins hasn't played an actual NBA game yet.
And Aldridge said he wants to come back and be a lifelong Blazer. That's something Love hasn't advertised. That's why Minny is open to trading him and we aren't open to trading Aldridge.
FTA's in one game is not an indicator of overall player quality; Travis Outlaw once shot 20 FT's as a Blazer.
This is silly... When a player is super athletic... and can't throw a rock in the ocean of course they're going to get free throw attempts.... 40% from the field 15% from three against summer league competition... Tyreke Evans also shot 40% in summer league btw. Can't find his 3ball %... granted I didn't look very hard. But being Evans is a career 26.8% shooter from distance... highly doubt it was much higher than Wiggins. Point is players who can shoot won't get as many free throws as players who can't shoot. Especially at the Guard position. http://www.nba.com/summerleague/2014/players/sl_andrew_wiggins/
Bayless was summer league MVP. Mostly by getting to the line. It did not equate to the regular season because he never got the same calls.
Wiggins is a number overall pick, super hyped and on the same team as Lebron he will get some calls. BTW I simply said Wiggins was off to a good start.
Cleveland needs to be careful but I would wait this out. If Golden State is set on the idea of not moving Thompson, they cant put together a better package than Golden State and that includes one without Wiggins. Bennett, Thompson and a couple #1's should suffice. And then if they are desperate, you may not need to move Bennett. LA isn't going to be moved. They franchise has rested it's fate on he and Lillard. Let's see if it pays off.
16/19. tons of 14 fts in a game, multiple 10 ft's a game. 20 ft's a game are for marketable players, not necessarily good players. But, I don't expect you to understand that. You don't research before you talk.
For the record, I'd like to also point out that James Harden averaged 10.2 FTA per game in 2012/2013... and only got to 20 FTs in a game once, against Charlotte. So, you know, there's that. http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hardeja01/gamelog/2013/
Your right LA isn't going to be moved but Aldridge for Anderson Varejao, Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson and next years #1 pick is a bit tempting.
Thanks for the reference. LA did have 19 in a game last year he also had 17, 14 and 10 twice. That is it 5 games out of 69. He had 17 games with 2 fta's or less. I am not saying Wiggins is better than LA but watching him get 20 FTA's even in summer league is impressive. He has shown an ability to be aggressive and play hard something people were not 100% convinced of after watching him in college last year. Wiggins already looks like a more athletic version of Demar Derozan
