Right now, based on stats, he is the leader for all three awards. How crazy would that be?

Only if N.O was a legitimate contender. And right now they are not.

His best chance is at defensive player of the year.
    LBJ will be MVP.
Lets not forget who actually is the best player in the league today.
AD was already considered really good, by virtue of that he won't be most improved.

I say no. Way to early to hand out these awards and the Pelicans might not rack up enough wins to make the playoffs. If they make them I think it's an early out in the west. Davis is going to be a top player. He's younger than Meyers Leonard by a year. This good at 21, at 24 he's going to be a force. He's an allstar forever at this point but I don't think MVP this season or DPY either.

He's a lock to win DPOY

After LeBron and Durant I can't think of a better player

    Yes he could.

Everyone knows LeBron is the best player but he is going to focus on his teammates putting up stats and saving himself for the playoffs. Thats why Durant won MVP last year. The East is so weak he'll have tons of games he can coast especially toward the latter half of the season when all the tanking teams have given up.

Davis has a PER of 36! When Wilt averaged 50 points and 25 rebounds per game he had a PER of 31. If Davis comes close to that PER he'll be the favorite for all three awards.

Are we talking finals MVP or regular season MVP? Because if he carries the Pelicans to the playoffs for the first time since Chris Paul in a loaded west that'll be damn impressive. What the Pelicans do in the postseason is irrelevant to regular season MVP.

Absolutely not. He's good, but not that good yet. When he develops a post game, he will be unstoppable.

If I was his coach, I would be bringing in Hakeem and whomever else. Maybe even Barkley. If he does that, it will be Shaq all over again, but this time the player isn't a douche

According to PER, he's way better than those guys.

    Why?

    Observe:

    Last year: 20.8 ppg, 10 rpg, 1.6 apg, 2.8 bpg, 1.3 spg, 51.9 FG%, PER 26.5
    This year: 25.5 ppg, 11.4 rpg, 2.0 apg, 3.9 bpg, 2.3 spg, 57.9 FG%, PER 36.1

    Exactly.

He's already as good as Hakeem. Look at Hakeem's third year stats. Anthony Davis' are slightly better.

I don't look at points or stats. He doesn't have a post game. It's all face up. And last time I checked Hakeem didn't win any of those awards his third year.

Like I said, he can get to greatness status with a post game. Until then, he's just a good player. Sorry

He's gone from "really good" to near GOAT numbers. Who has improved more than him? He is only playing one more minute than last year and yet all his stats have jumped.

He's arguably the best defensive player in the game who also averages 25 ppg

Name 5 players better than him

Who needs a post game when you can score 25 ppg while being the best defensive player in the building? I think if he played for Portland, you would consider him the best player in the NBA. I really think that.
