Yes, please. I've always been a huge Monroe fan. One of the better big man at passing out of the post.
If you've seen Monroe and Drummond lose together you'd understand why he's on the block. He doesn't play defense and is out of position. JJ Hicksonish?
Not even close. The reason why he and Drummond lose a lot is because they have zero range. But Monroe can post up better than Kaman. And we all know Hickson can post up a garbage bag. He plays old Skool style big man game. I will agree his defense is suspect, but for a bench player, that added low post game is needed!
Try to do it without giving up CJ and Blake. I know it's a business but it'd be messed up to do that to Blake again. Kaman (home state)/Robinson/Leonard/2015 pick.
Detroit is making such a huge mistake here trading away one of their young bigs just because they mistakenly paid josh smith. I don't care if they don't get along. I don't care if one is playing "out of position". Figure the shit out and play together. One is what 24 the other is 21? figure the shit out and trade josh smith the what 30 year old?
I would do this trade in a second. I also think we should look at moving Batum and starting crabbe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yes he can. He can hook with either hand. He has a better fake to the up and under step through than LA does IMHO.
It's not a mistake - Monroe flat-out told them he doesn't want to play for them anymore. That's why he took a one-year deal so he could be a UFA next summer - it was his only way to guarantee that he'd be able to leave DET.
As I remember it, he wants a bigger contract than Detroit was willing to pay. http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2014/8/12/5944785/greg-monroe-pistons-qualifying-offer-nba
http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on...e-rumors-completely-false-ridiculous-annoying Greg Monroe calls trade rumors 'completely false,' 'ridiculous'
Seems to me like Monroe would be a perfect fit in Indiana. I don't see him in Stotts system as a good fit.
No it is a mistake. No one expected Drummond to be doing what he is doing so quickly. So they signed josh smith and were planning on bringing Drummond on slowly. That's not working because Drummond is better than expected, and Josh Smith has shown once again he can't play the 3. So they're bringing Monroe off the bench and trying to play all 3 together. How's that working for them? mishandled one of the better young bigs in the league.. so much so he wants out of Detroit. All because they tossed stupid money at a overrated tweener in josh smith. Drummond/Jennings/Monroe is a core you can build around for years as they're all in their early 20's. Playing Josh Smith because they paid him money is a mistake. But it might be their only option with how big of a mistake they made in pissing off Monroe.
I only read the first page, but aren't we lacking the ability to trade this year's first round pick because we traded last year's?
I'm not sure. We actually traded that pick a few years ago. It was just taking a long time for Charlotte to collect.
