Nah man, I don't give up those details lightly, only to Nigerian investment opportunities and to help with the many burials of foreign relatives I never seem to have met... Are you my Uncle?

It's great to have you here! I see that you're in Australia, with the time difference you won't see this post until yesterday.

Cheers Sly, thanks for the welcome!
Aus born and bred. Makes it harder to watch the Blazer games live as most are on about 2:30pm, during work, but hooray for league pass!

Hola, I have posted here in the past, and have read here for years. My oldest brother is idog1976 or something along those lines and although he stopped posting here a few years ago but he introduced me to S2 back in the Oden hay days. I read but rarely post on RealGm still, and have almost completely migrated to S2 now. Anyway here is my ramble:

Fan since about 1990 - born in 1984, hell yes to having parents that raised me as a Blazer fan. Oddly I became more of a fan during the Jail Blazer days, and learned to truly appreciate the Blazers during that dark time.
    Current fave - Wesley Matthews
    All time - Brandon Roy
Moment - Dame's series winner in 2014, that is the most exciting Portland playoff series since the epic collapse of 2000 WCF that shall remain unspoken

A Fan since the 89-90 season, but bounced back and forth with the Sonics as I had divorced parents and moved back and forth from Portland to Seattle ( I feel like I had it good then because both teams were contenders and both went to the finals in the next few years.

Favorite player no: Dame, like most

Favorite player of all time: Tough one, but I will go with Uncle Cliffy

Favorite Blazers moment: Going up 2-0 on Detroit, even though they won in the end. That feeling after winning the second games was was close as I have ver felt to feeling like a ring is inevitable.

I missed this thread, so I am posting late. ;)

Except for the bouncing between Seattle and Portland thing, our experiences were almost identical. I was a huge Uncle Cliffy fan (since he was a rookie when I started following the Blazers), and the feeling after taking that 2-0 lead on Detroit was amazing...

Just found this thread.....a member since July 2, 2015. I've been a Blazer fan since they entered the league in 1970, which would have made me a tender 16 years old. And the 1970 NBA draft remains one of the most talented in the history of the league, which made our entry even better.

My son is a long time member of this site (and a serious smart ass and serial poster, and who will remain anonymous) and urged me to take part in this circus. I've thoroughly enjoyed it so far except when members start getting pissy with each other. Then it reminds me of OLive.....but that's just me. I'm here for the insights, debates, camaraderie and laughs, and enjoy it most when everyone plays nice. Pretty much so far so good....

Favorite all time Blazer is Geoff Petrie. I wish you younger folks could have seen him shoot. When he was on, there was no one better. Mo Lucas is a close second.

Current favorite is Dame obviously. But I'm starting to get a serious bromance going with Vonleh.

Favorite Blazer moment? Really??? Winning the championship, of course. Though Lucas clocking Dawkins upside the head in Game 2 of the finals after Chocolate Thunder swung and missed at Bobby Gross (flattening Doug Collins instead) is right up there. And all parties were allowed to remain in the game! That turned the tide of the whole series. Gawd I miss those days.....

God bless Mo Lucas! You can bet the house that LaMarsha Allbitch would NEVER have had his teammate's back like that. Or in any other way for that matter.....thanks for the clip Orion. It made my morning!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum as of today. I've always been a fan of the league in general, I actually live in Ohio so there's a lot of Cavs pressure here. I always pick up the Blazers on league pass so I guess I've been following the team for 3 years or so.
Man my favorite player right now is Ed Davis, that guy just has such a positive impact on the game when he's out there. I love CJs game as well and obviously Dame is quickly becoming one of the five best players in the league.
Favorite all time Blazer...I'm going to go with Sheed on this one. I haven't been around long enough to have a favorite moment but I can at least say why I'm a Blazer fan. Sure, occasionally you'll have a guy like Aldridge come along, but seeing the collection of really good players assembled is a fun thing to watch. These guys just play really together and that's been a staple of the Blazers for as long as I can remember. It just seems really well run up there and the scouting must be lights out because you see guys like Lilliard and CJ come out of nowhere.

I've been an NBA fan since the 1960s. The first game I attended was in Baltimore: Knicks at Bullets. Clyde Frazier was the Knicks star and Earl Monroe the Bullets star. The two later formed an elite backcourt for years in NY, so this game was before the 71-72 season.

My first team was the Bulls, as they were my hometown team. I listened to the radio a lot and heard Jim Durham call the games featuring Boerwinkle, Love, Walker, Van Lier, and Sloan. But I enjoyed all the teams a lot.

Lew Alcinder on the Bucks teamed with the big O. I remember Kareem as a HS player, the hype about him was massive.

Kareem was probably the best player for years. Then we started hearing about Bill Walton at UCLA, maybe a true match for Kareem. Then Walton graduated and went to the Blazers and the epic matchup was realized. Kareem dominated the stats, but Walton was highly skilled and a winner from the start.

The Blazers won the championship and then debilitating injuries hit Walton and a dynasty was never realized. I really liked that championship team. Mo Lucas was my favorite PF and led the team in scoring. They ran the offense through Walton, and he ended up with a lot of assists for a C in those days. Dave Twardzik shot over 60% from the field - like a PF who only gets close shots. Hollins, Gross, and Steele provided skill and depth.

As far as I'm concerned, Jerry Reinsdorf is the worst thing to happen to the NBA. As a Chicago sports fan, the Bulls dynasty was sonething of a miracle and not typical of what we were used to. Reinsdorf lucked into Jordan, and in the end chased off Jordan, PJax, Pippen, and broke up the team that had just won a championship. The following years featured horrible records, blown draft picks, poor treatment of Bill Cartwright (one of the best people ever in the game), and then an abuse of loyal fans for the purpose of maximizing profit over winning basketball.

The organization has been downright dysfunctional for years. They stumbled onto DRose and Thibs and went to the ECF. Thibs won more games than he should have, regular season and playoffs. In order to replace Thibs with GM Gar Forman's buddy, Fred Hoiberg, they invented a lot of stuff to smear Thibs with as they fired him. Thibs was the only reason the Bulls might be real contenders.

I had been following the Blazers for years on this site. The more I saw of Olshey and Stotts, the more I realized that this organization is about enabling management to try to win it all. Paul Allen is one of the best things to happen to the NBA, what a refreshing change.

As a Bulls fan, I voiced my criticism and was told that I can't choose my owner or GM. Then I realized I could, and I choose Allen and Olshey and Stotts. If I'm going to root for a team that falls short, at least in the Blazers I can root for management that is trying to win, good character people, and classy players.

I adopted the Blazers this offseason. I am no bandwagon fan - most predicted a terrible record for this roster. I'm a fan regardless from now on.

I saw more in the team than most others. I expected a team that might challenge for 8th seed, and here we are exceeding those expectations.

I must also say that since our partnership with the Blazers, I have dealt with several guys in Blazers management and they only reinforce my respect for the organization.

I'm a fan for the rest of my life.

First post, been a fan since I can remember. Some of my earliest Blazers memories are listening to Bill Schonley's calls on the radio with players like Fat Lever, Darnell Valentine, Jim Paxon, Wayne Cooper and Calvin Natt before half those guys got traded for Kiki Vandeweghe.

My favorite all time Blazer is Buck Williams. He tipped the scales for those early 90's teams from a good team, to a legitimate contender when he arrived.

Favorite Current Blazer is Dame, no question, and he's quickly rising to my all time favorite status.

Favorite Blazers moment, was watching game 5 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals in Seau's Restaurant in San Diego surrounded by Laker fans who thought they were going to wrap the series up. My least favorite moment was watching game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals in Seau's surrounded by Laker fans who, going into the 4th quarter thought they were done. That 4th Quarter scarred me for life.
