Yeah. At first I saw the whole bittersweet revenge thing as kind of cool but it's gotten old, fast. He needs to learn when to stop running his mouth. He shouldn't be giving opposing players more reason to come gunning for him and the Wizards. And beyond that, he just comes off as kind of immature. Let your game speak.
Gilbert Arenas said the Wiz were the 'Suns of the East'WELL GUESS WHAT GA:? Amar? Stoudemire on the Wizards' "Suns of the East" self-labeling: "I did hear that they wanted to be the Phoenix Suns of the East. I think there's only one Phoenix Suns, and we rest in the West. And that's how it's going to be for a while."Lol @ this:The 'stacheNash boarded the team bus to the Verizon Center on Tuesday freshly shaven, but with a twist. He left a pencil-thin mustache above his lip that lasted until he left the locker room for his pregame shooting."Maybe we should go with a team mustache for team unity," said Suns center Sean Marks, who is part of the Suns bunch that is not shaving as long as they keep winning. "I don't think words can describe how he looks. He looks like a completely different person."The mustache drew comparison to the one Napoleon Dynamite's brother, Kip, sported in the movie.

Infact, Arenas and Wade are the the only 2 superstars Who consistently Get perimeter touch fouls. It's just that Arenas takes Silly Shots and wade doesn't. Wade is a high iq player and doesn't take wild shots like arenas. He penetrates WAAAAAAAAY more than arenas is rewarded for it with ft's.Arenas is a disgrace. He talks about himself like he is jesus.THE MAN ONLY AVERAGES 29.7 POINTS!!!. ON 43% Shooting.Explain to me how that's impressive. Impressive is averaging 28ppg on 49% shooting. Impressive is averaging 31 ppg on 50% shooting. Impressive is averaging 35ppg on 45% shooting. Not bloody 29.7 points</div>How does Wade not take wild shots when he falls on the floor on every layup, knowing he's going to get the call?

I think I said this before but w.e., ill say it again. I think that Gilbert Arenas has enough swag on his plate to not be called cocky. Some players have too much swag, some dont have any swag at all. Gilbert has just enough. And he's allowed to walk with his head up high and talk the way he does because, well, in a way, Gilbert Arenas can do what he says.

But the fact of the matter remains that we are rebuilding, in case you couldn't figure that one out all by yourself, so that comment makes absolutely no sense. Philadelphia is right where it should be right now...<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GArenas @ Jan 24 2007, 06:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>24-17 is good for the Eastern conference. They are 7-13 on the road, and are 4-8 on the road against Eastern Conference opponents on the road with two of those wins coming against Philly and NY, and only one road win against a team with a winning record (@ Orlando). Now, we've gotten off-topic enough... this isn't a topic about Washington's chances/run in the playoffs, it's about Gilbert Arenas turning into a headcase.
Wizards were in a slump at the beggining of the season when we were 0-7 on the road. Since then we've become much better out on the road. BigMo you really don't think the Wizards have a chance to get to the finals in the East you're joking yourself. You know Gilbert can explode at any given time, Caron is always consistent, and Jamison is the great final piece down the stretch. If we get a top two seed there is no doubt in my midn we will be at least to the ECF.Someone please tell me why you think Gil's a nutcase.
I haven't read any of the earlier post so I may be repeating what others are saying, but, Arenas may talk a lot of smack and lash out at Kobe every now and then, but he's backing it up. He's one of the top scorers in the NBA with 30 a game and still dishing the ball out decently with 6 assists. He also has the Wizards near the top of the East. So, as long as he is producing and winning, I wouldn't call it cockiness as much as I would confidence and fire.

Gilbert is an amazing offensive talent, but it is a lot harder to take over a series than it is to take over a game... he can do it, but generally the better team wins in a seven-game series, and I have a hard time believing the Wizards can beat Detroit, Miami (if they are healthy) and/or Chicago in a seven-game series.EDIT: And this thread basically reasserted my initial statement that people seem to accept/allow Arenas to act this way whereas they would more than likely call for the head of any other star player if they acted this way.
Detroit is collapsing sure Webber cuold be that spark but how long will it take before he starts having problems with the Detroit management. Miami, I mean I can hardly believe they will stay healthy. Chicago, yeah they sure have alot of leadership heading into the playoffs
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Gil also says this, about the actual all-star game:I don't think I'll ever actually win MVP at All-Star, 'cause I'm always looking around at who came out that year. You don't know who's going to show up. I'm like, 'That's Jay-Z! Is that Bow Wow?! I don't get to see celebrities during my regular days, so at All-Star, I forget about the game. When I go out there to play, I'm not really doing anything; they may as well sub me out.</div>Source
Sadly most players probably feel this way but don't say it like Arenas does. The ASG is a joke and it's that kind of attitude thats ruined the game.
He probably just said that to get attention. The part where he says they might as well sub me out, he just wants people to feel sorry for him after reading that paragraph he said. Cause he said he doesn't see celebrities
