Well, I thought it was very unlikely, I was thinking more of a #2 seed. But ive seen atleast 3 bracketeers say that Memphis can easily be a #1 seed with the longets win streak and all the other top teams being upset but nonranked teams. People then say they have a win streak cause of the conference, but the teams the top 5 teams lost to arent better than the teams we beat. And the teams we play are known for having hostle crowds in their house...where we play them. I think its pretty intresting. I still think we will be a #2 seed. But its pretty amazing that we lose our 3 best players and we still end up a top 10 team...and maybe a #1 seed again. Memphis isnt a powerhouse...yet atleast. So its a pretty big but unnoticed accomplishment. And to think we're only losing Jeremy Hunt but gaining atleast 3 top 50 players. One being Derrick Rose, who some consider the best high school player in the nation. Just some nice thoughts with the Grizzlies not doing well. We got Coach Cal who seems to be turning Memphis into a top team for several years even with losing payers to the NBA. If we do get the #1 seed, we will finally have the respect we deserve..hell, some people say we're better this year than we were last season because we are more balanced and play more like a team...which I cant disagree.
Definately they can be. Shoulld be rooting heavily for Texas over Kansas tommorow, but its untirely possible still. Nation's longest win streak should help them alot. With UNC losing again it helps their chances.
I can definitley see why they could and couldn't get one. I get the feeling that the bracketeers would rather have a name in there like Kansas or UNC in there with OSU, Wisconson, and UCLA. Memphis definitely could be a 1 seed, and if they got it, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. I just think the bracket people will just go for the name.
I don't see how they COULD BE. They beat a bunch of sh*tty schools, and they played 4 ranked teams all year. Tech, Kentucky, Arizona, and Tennessee..And they lost to 3 of them.
but look at the sh*tty teams the other top teams lost to. And people who actually watches NCAAB can tell you that Memphis is alot better than we were at the beginning of the season. And the fact that even the nonranked team we've beaten are still very good. The nations longest win streak at 18. We have defiently closed out some very tough and close games. People look at opponents and say "they suck, they're not ranked" but if you go anywhere at their arena, its very tough. And the fact that the unranked teams we have played are still good despite not being ranked.
Gonzaga's alright - they beat them by 1 point. Oklahoma is decent they beat them by 12. Everyone else is either terrible or mediocre at best..Memphis deserves a #2 seed, played very well in their crappy conference, played decent against the ranked teams, and they have some momentom going into the tourny..
Memphis has played maybe 2 terrible teams this season. Alotve are better than mediocure. And like I keep saying, the other top teams keep losing to what you call "terrible or mediocre at best" teams. And memphis hasnt.
UCLA is going DDDOOOWWWNN this year...dont think we forgot about last season....IITTTSS OOONN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, the Memphis schedule is pretty weak. They are 67th on Strength of Schedule...a lot easier than other teams like UCLA who have the 5th toughest schedule.http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/polls/rpi/index1
well, obvisouly yall wont give Memphis its respect until we show yall in the tourney. But theres a reason why we're ranked 6th in the nation...I dont see how yall cant see that....
