The Mavs will have won 67 games all for f*cking nothing... You do NOT sweep a team in the regular season, just to be pushed aside like you're nothing... I don't give a sh*t what the teams' win/loss records were, or what seeding they are. The Warriors are going to move onto the 2nd round.</div>I both think and hope you're right; it'll make me a lot of money, the odds were pretty steep......But it's not gonna be an easy road, I can see what the Warriors are trying to do. Dirk isn't a leader and can't get his own shot so by doubling him and taking him out of the game they're trying to force the Mavs to beat him with other players while all the while making Dirk more and more angry, because when Dirk gets angry he blames his teammates and causes locker room problems.

We need to go back to the old lineup. I dont know why Avery did that. We're the better team so they're suppose to matchup against us..not vise versa. But our offense never clicked. George on Baron Davis isn't going to work..that needs to change. Dirk at Center..No good, that needs to change. We also have to be more agressive..Way too many attempts at contested shots Its only game 1 though. Go mavs!

The Warriors ran up the score in the last minute instead of stalling as part of their "mad man mind games" as dirk would put it.

I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon, and say the Mavs are screwed just yet. I think the Mavs can lose in game two, and still win the series.

The Mavs can still easily win this series if they win the rest of their home games, but if they lose another home game they're screwed. The Warriors are the second worst road team in the league and have a beastly home record. If you lose twice to the Warriors in your own home court you're done for because a good team should win every home game against the dubs. I believe that teams with home court advantage down 0-2 have won very few times in history (though one of those times was the mavs against houston if I'm not mistaken).

If Dampier starts, prepare for a record amount of 3 point makes for the Warrior. Dirk can't guard Stephen Jackson and Dampier can't guard Al Harrington. Golden State's lineup makes it so the center is useless on defense as the center can't be in the middle. He has to guard the 3 point line. The difference from this Nellie team and the past Nellie teams as this team is so athletic that it is just a nightmare to guard without going small. A small lineup gives Dallas a chance to defend Golden State though they aren't used to it. My suggestion is for Dallas to punish Golden State in the same way by having Harrington have to stay with Dirk at the 3 point line and have Harris and Howard drive to the basket. Stackhouse though if he wants to be effective should use his post up ability but expect a double team which could give Dirk, Terry, Howard, and George a lot of open shots. The key is to spread the floor and once Golden State doubles than find the open shooter. Using Dirk as a role player might be the key to this series as Dirk is a big threat at the 3 point line.

I think some are overreacting. Yes, part of the reason we lost was because the way the Warriors played against us, but more of the blame for the lost is on the Mavericks part. First off we shot horribly from the field. 35.3% from the field in the game and had a stretch of not scoring a point for like 5 minutes in the 4th. This isnt going to happen again in the series. No way we shoot the ball that bad again. Stackhouse was 0-6, Dirk was 4-16, J-Ho was 8-21, and JET was 6-14. The leading scorer off the bench was DIOP with 4 points.2nd, Dallas changed thier game to play against them enstead of the other way around. I beg Avery to go back to the big lineup and punish Nelson for playing Harrington and Jackson at the 4 and 5 positions. There is no way they should be able to outrebound us when we have to 7 footers out on the court. Jackson and Harrington are 6-8 and 6-9 respectively. I thought surely Avery would start Damp or at least play him a good amount of minutes in the 2nd half after he saw him grab 2 offensive rebounds in two minutes at the end of the half. Not only did he grab 2 offensive rebounds, but Dirk had 5, Diop had 5, Howard had 4 and even Terry had 2. 3rd, Avery has to see that Baron Davis is too strong for Harris and Terry and too fast for George and Stackhouse. I say we really should put the much longer Josh Howard on him for the majority of the game. The wierd thing that I notice about GS is that they play small ball, but they really only have one small guy. Monta Ellis and Davis are both 6-3, but Davis is so thick and strong. That really leaves only 1 player that Harris and Terry to gaurd although I think they both could gaurd Richardson for spirts. I really think Avery should use a lineup of Damp/Diop at the 5, Dirk and George at the 3 and 4, and Howard and Terry/Harris at the 1 and 2. The matchups woul be like soHarris/Terry-Monta EllisHoward-DavisGeorge-RichardsonDirk-JacksonDamp/Diop-Harrington4th and finally, Dirk has to step up and Make big shots. I think he settled for too many on jump shots.

I think overall, we had an average game as a team. We didn't have a lot of players involved in the offense, it was really the Baron show and our three pointers weren't going in as they usually do. I'm glad to see us hold Dallas under 90 points, it shows teams that we can play defense, and I think that if the ball starts hoppin and we start making the threes like we usually do, we can take the series.EDIT:I also want to say, you guys saw bad Monta Ellis, he wasn't getting to the rim as much as he usually does, and he will be a lot more involved in the offense the next game.
