Then you completely missed the point of the fact that it costs to ship. Who is paying for it is irrelevant to the fact that there is a cost for shipping. So your analogy is the same for the USPS, Fed Ex and UPS, making it irrelevant. If Ebay had shipped UPS, it would have been free to you as well.
Yeah, ups/fedex used to pick up my packages too but I no longer have a store front and it was part of my monthly fee. And yes, i also use usps for smaller/lighter weight packages...now, all of my packages are Fedex/UPS Ground or USPS priority mail and a flat rate box every now and then. I use all of them depending on rates and service.
I work for UPS and it would be very easy to have a manager, or employee, lose/damage ballots coming from certain districts that lean heavily Dem/Republican. I would have to assume that UPS would need to setup an area where only certain employees handle the Ballots and its all recorded/under close supervision but it could still pretty easily happen and be made to look like an accident. UPS is already raising prices, they do it almost every year, and if there is an insane influx of deliveries because USPS goes under then you can bet your ass they will raise prices again by a lot. The Argument that UPS can't or won't raise their prices because of FedEx won't matter. UPS will raise the prices and wait until FedEx fails to deliver their influx of volume in time and the big accounts start coming back to UPS even with the raised prices. Iv seen that scenario play out again and again. FedEx inability to deliver on time when they get an influx of volume is why you wont see an Amazon package delivered by FedEx unless UPS subcontracted it out to them, otherwise it'll be delivered by Amazon themselves or UPS.
Not as qualified as someone who has worked the last 30-40 years in the USPS and actually earned. Sure, he knows about shipping giant crates of shit, but he bought his way in by donating money to Trump and that is corrupt bullshit.
NOt a mess, a fairly respectfull discussion... for the most part. Oh wait. This is S2. YOU DID IT!!! YOU CAUSED THIS COMPLETE CHAOS!!!!!!!
Management or employees losing ballots? Not unless they want to get fired. The system UPS has and the accountability that comes with being a driver or management I highly doubt that would happen. Only way I could see something like that happening is in the part time ranks. Once that package is scanned into the system, packages don’t just disappear. Maybe at FedEx where their standards are very low. Also, FedEx gave up Amazon because it wasn’t cost effective for them. UPS should do the same. It would bury Amazon in its shit and there would be a backlog forever. On another note, I’ve read people mentioning medications. UPS has been delivering medications as long as I’ve been there. Both Next day and ground. A large account with the VA.
The Roseburg VA sends my meds through the USPS...my VA is in Eugene but I have to call Roseburg for my meds.
