To take that long you need a combo of bad luck and horrible horrible management. And as much as everyone hated Neil, they made the playoffs every year. Think of how horribly run those franchises are.

The bigger issue is that fans don't pay the bills. Corporations do.

The first sentence is understandable. The second is a ludicrous reach. I've heard of putting lipstick on a pig - but this is lipstick-eyeliner-stileto heels-garter belts.

In the context of the other moves, bringing in a player who might actually contribute makes no sense.

    Oh...shit....

Really? I think the possible late lottery pick is considerable value.

I wouldn't even give one, Why aren't people looking at Christian Wood? Rebound % 18 compared to Grant at a measly 7.5. efg % .554 compared to Grant's .465 3 pt % .374 to Grant's .338, OTRG 110 over Grant's 104, DTRG slight better 112 to 113. BPM .7 to Grant's .2 Wood's number were even better when he played as a PF for Detroit. His career OTRG 114, Dtrg 111, career BPM 1.5 These numbers are as good as Siakam's.

How many of the current professional teams in Seattle were relocated there from Portland??? Come on.

Do we even have an official anouncement as to what the conditions are? Is this one of those "1st round" picks that turns into future 2nd rounders?

Yes, I am cynical, even bitter, but as soon as I heard "conditional pick" I assumed Cronin got played and there is a good chance we never see that pick.

Wood would indisputably be the superior acquisition. You think Sato, Keon, and picks would be the best HOU could get for him though?

I think now that the next shoe won't drop until draft. Teams don't want to trade for that FRP until they know if they can use it this year and who is available when it comes up. I hope then will be able to use it for someone like Wood or Siakam or even Simmons, definitely not for Grant. By holding off getting a good player this will also help our tanking efforts.

Wood? Too young and too talented to fit the current plan.

Get real the Blazers did not almost make the finals. The team in 2000 almost made the finals. The team with Lillard was swept in the conference finals.

I don't know. I would certainly give them their choices of Winston, Walker-Alexander, Johnson, Watford. If that pick ends up in the lottery it has a lot of value so I don't think this trade would take place until the draft. I read once from a guy who wasn't really an insider that a good young player and FRP. My take on Houston is that they want to tank for multiple years so I don't think they will want a king's ransom.

He is 26; he might be getting a little old for Houston. :)
