Do you think his progress as a player becomes exponential at this point given the advancement in training/healthcare/etc if he really does have this work ethic? It’s amazing he’s even drawn comparisons to Jordan and Kobe (style wise) this early. Sharpe didn’t even take basketball seriously until high school. Kobe had an NBA father and Jordan played 3 years in college. I’m not sure if he starts next year, but I can see this guy DOMINATING coming off the bench.
Wait up, Shaedon broke his leg as a teenager? I've recently had back and forths with posters over Wemby where they claimed Portland shouldn't draft him because he also broke his leg as a teenager. Maybe management should cut Sharpe now before he dupes them into resigning him? STOMP
Ah. I know I’ve questioned how much of a work ethic he has, but only because I have not heard either way. Hope it’s good. I like that he said he was studying film
I didn’t think about it, but the fact that he didn’t start really balling until high school and no college probably massively reduced his mileage compared to other kids.
That was just your honeymoon night with Mrs. HCP and it was easy. She always had a 'thing' for lawn boys.
not sure I said that but will admit I questioned if he has the fire and desire to be elite. Having watched the last 6-8 games I’m extremely impressed. I think like any 18 year old playing with men he was content to sit back and fit in once those players sat out and he was given the keys to the car he showed he’s ready for the next step. I really think he’s got to be given huge role of at least 30 minutes a game next year and expanded role on offense no more sitting in the corner.
It's interesting to note how much different Simons and Sharpe were in their respective careers. Yeah, Simons had that really good game in his rookie year, but didn't really follow it up with much progression until last year. Not a knock on him, some of that is who was ahead of him (actually, a majority of it was), but also some of it was who was controlling his role and minutes. But honestly, Sharpe is miles ahead of Simons. Like, night and day difference. It didn't help that Simons 2nd year he shot horribly from the floor and then the next year they switched his roles to just shooting 3s. In his 2nd year he shot more 2's than 3's, but in his 3rd year Stotts had him shoot over 2x as many 3's as 2 pointers.
