You spelled "peaking thru the blinds with Nate and TBpup" wrong. I kinda agreed about Kris and Shaedon, but I'm not worried about Shaedon because he showed that he can score in an actual NBA game. He showed aggression that he lacked last year, but he definitely has to improve his handles. I'm not worried about Kris, because summer league usually is a guard driven thing. Yeah, his #s weren't there, and were nothing like his brothers, but he's not as good as his brother. Shaedons #s don't look nearly as bad if you take out game 2, tho he still shot bad. 19-48 I think. But then again, he showed that he's a much better shooter than this in NBA games. I wanted him to dominate more, so I've tamped down my expectations. Should be 11-15 ppg next year. Also should be a long season next year (with fun moments but few wins).
I think my biggest takeaway is that Sharpe is most likely going to be very inconsistent next season. He will have hot stretches and cold stretches. I think he will benefit a lot by having Scoot though.
I think he'll have more "hot" streaks (or be consistent), but will struggle because he won't have a top 10 player as a teammate. But ironically enough (or maybe not, I don't know), he'll benefit far more by not having Dame there to rely on making things easier. He'll either learn to run or fall down.
What's it going to look like when Sharpe is consistent though? Meaning who is his comp when he gets to the consistency portion. He's an interesting player that way.
I think that like most players that can create - he benefits from having the ball more in his hands. He had his best portion of the year during the blatant tank at the end of the year when he played effectively PG or co-PG. I think that Sharpe got frozen out / drifted as a perimeter catch and shoot or someone that can only cut to get lobs. I think that for his own progression - having the ball in his hands is probably the best thing that can happen. Given his age and inexperience, it will likely bring both joy and despair for the viewers... It's going to be fine.
I'm not sure. I know some people like to compare him to Kobe. He specifically said that he's working on his post game this summer. He could totally master that Jordan/Kobe post up. The problem is that Shae doesn't have the Jordan/Kobe personality.
He is a shorter thicker T-Mac. Lots of floating around, but once he gets to that baseline, it’s over.
Nah, I don’t see it. Doc was SO long, like T-Mac. Sharpe is built more like Derek Rose don’t you think?
build wise yes...but his game style sure looks like Dr J back in the day except he's not as smooth yet...lacks the handles.
I think he can be very dangerous in that role. He just needs to improve his handles and he could be lethal. Work on that shot so they have to respect the pull up, and he should be able to blow by defenders.
Was talking with a friend recently and used the same comp. McGrady looked aloof and out of it at times, but was elite, and would all of a sudden turn it on and you look up and he's got 30 on you. Sharpe seems similar(as a ceiling, not currently)
