Bob Whitsitt hired Bobby Medina with the Sonics 1992-97, then brought him to the Blazers 1997-2013.

Hmm, wonder why he forgot to list Greg Oden.

I have a theory that it’s hard to define the injury and doesn’t carry the prognosis of a back injury so it’s perfect for a tanking team.

I fucking wish it was Ant and Jerami with and adductor injury that's hard to define and helped us tank while Scoot got the kind of reps that Shaedon wrapped up last season with. I'm still hoping that this is a legit injury that they are being cautious with and that we'll see Scoot back soon with Ant and hopefully Jerami sitting the rest of the way.

Now Ayton has a strained hand.
It’s like a box of chocolates. You never know what you might get?

If we are tanking it's all about asset value. To play Simons and Grant two likely assets to be involved in trade package in off season should stabilize or increase their value? To me, since it appears the team is looking at another year or two of tanking it best to play it safe with injuries to Shae & Scoot.

I agree about Shae and Scoot but I think teams know what they have with Ant and Jerami. Playing them both against teams like the Grizzlies who we have to games in a row coming up just doesn't make sense for the tank. Let our established players get run if we get under the Hornets and have a cushion.

Yeah but having them sit out with injuries hurts their value.

At this juncture of the season they know teams are tanking. I don't think Ant will have much value anyways. Undersized guard who pounds the air out of the ball. He needs a new coach who can limit his liabilities.

To me Ant should be a guy coming off the bench for a contender. Instant O if he's on....jmo

How Victor Wembanyama to the Trail Blazers almost happened
One of those teams was the Trail Blazers. Portland possessed the code 14, 5, 8, 3 in the 2023 NBA Draft lottery, per Ben Golliver of the Washington Post, so if the No. 3 ball had been selected at the end instead of the No. 2, the French phenom would be heading to the Pacific Northwest.

In the end, they were just one number off.

Ant and Jerami both played over 40 minutes last night and they jacked up 41 of Portland's 86 shots. Considering the circumstances, that makes little sense

Based on who was available last night....who should those shots have gone to?

You know they play beer pong for the NBA draft lotto, right?

Apparently Roy missed his last shot. But he did pretty good for a cripple!

Ant & Jerami are tanking perfectly. Leave them in.

Why? They made the game a little bit entertaining, but achieved the goal of losing. Which of the other brick masons would you have preferred to see bending the rims?

I wonder how much tanking affects their performance. Maybe not much once the game starts, but let's face it when teams are in must-win situations they tend to play better.
What happens when the players know that both the fans and management all want them to lose...... how does that affect their intensity? I would imagine it has to be a factor for players who are not fighting for a roster spot. I would hate playing for a team in that situation.
