Our kind leader @SlyPokerDog has done me the favor of creating a new Atlanta Braves forum so that those of us like @RR7 and myself who actually follow a decent baseball team (sorry Mariners fans) have a place to discuss, without "polluting" @THE HCP's beloved Blazers forum with talk of something he doesn't consider a sport. No guarantees that I'll be able to get it to be as active as the Yankees forum is, but I figure it's worth a shot. If you grew up watching the 90's Braves on TBS like I did, or you're a bit older than that and followed Portland-native Dale Murphy's career, or you're even older than that and were a Hammerin' Hank fan...whatever might draw you to be interested in the best franchise in MLB (no bias, obvs), hop on over and contribute.
barfo is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Braves fans entering sportstwo.com until our site’s representatives can figure out what the hell is going on.
I too grew up watching them on TBS, but I do occasionally watch the Mariners and root for the regional team - so I get confused when I come across a Braves game and see them do this thing their announcers call 'hitting'.
I played against Dale Murphy in HS. He was 3 years older. We had some great HS players in Oregon at the time who ended up playing in the major leagues. (Ainge, Darryl Motley, Wally Backman) but Murphy was by far the most intimidating at 6'5". He was catching for the Braves just a couple of years later. I watched most of his games on TBS in the late 70s and 80s. Loved watching Murph and Horner.
