Big intradivisional matchup this weekend, where the Braves can hopefully settle the score from the massive 16-4 drubbing they took in their last game with the "Amazin's"

    5/10 - Morton (2-0, 3.50) vs Quintana (1-3, 5.20)
    5/11 - Fried (2-1, 4.23) vs Scott (0-0, 1.35)
    5/12 - Elder (1-1, 5.28) vs Severino (2-2, 2.93)

Feeling decent about the first game, as Quintana's been knocked around in 2 of his past 3 outings. Seems like he may be ready for the glue factory (I say, though he's 5 years younger than the seemingly ageless Charlie Morton).

Feeling similarly about game 2. Scott has all of one major-league start to his credit, and Fried's been strong against any offense not at the top of its league.

Sunday's matchup feels unpredictable. Severino's a strong option for the Mets, whereas Elder is the definition of a mixed bag.

Interestingly, ESPN was projecting Elder on Saturday and Fried on Sunday, and that has now been switched. Kinda wonder if that's the Braves hoping to secure the series victory early and be satisfied regardless of how Sunday turns out. I kinda wish they'd left it the way it was--I'd have liked to see the more balanced matchups: two unpredictable youngsters on Saturday; two prime veterans on Sunday.

Nice to see some power from the top to get us going last night. Hopefully that gets the guys on a little run.

And yet...my pessimism sees that they only scored in a single inning, that they only got 7 total hits, and that nobody got more than one.

Welp, bats didn't really get going, but another brilliant outing by Fried, so close to the combined no hitter!

Olson is now below. 200 on the season. Incredible for a guy who was an MVP candidates just last season. I know it's a long season and you have to let guys play through stuff like this, but I have to wonder how long until they have to do something.

Love it when unexpected guys come up big. Zack Short? Never heard of the guy. But gotta love what he's done today.

Well... that was disappointing. Got the series win, but the sweep was right there.
