I think Deni is going to really help to “unlock” Scoot (feel the same way about Clingan, although for slightly different reasons).
It is staggering to me that one guy (Haberstroh) couldn't math and then so many other media members parroted back this incorrect fact that Avdija was younger than Knecht. Listening to Locked on Blazers and Mike got suckered as well.
“He has said he learned to speak English by playing video games, as well as by watching Nickelodeon sitcoms.” a lot of you here will really connect with him!
Sure but people in the media keep throwing it out like it’s some kind of important factoid….. but it’s not even a true factoid.
The amount of Deni-glazing that’s going to happen on this forum is going to be off the charts. Buzelis, Amen, Ausar, these are guys I HOPE turn into what Deni is already (although I would still do an Ausar-based deal for Ant in a heartbeat). Franz might be a better scorer, but he isn’t any better of a playmaker imo, and he is a worse shooter and defender. We will have to wait and see what Franz’s extension is, but he might be making at least 3x more than Deni in ‘28-‘29, I seriously doubt he will ever be 3x the player. That’s a great building block to have. Super stoked to have a starting forward for the long term that I believe in.
WTF? We have needed and searched for a solid 3 since Nic left - how long ago was that?- and we get one today, AND a stud defensive center? WHAT IS GOING ON AROUND HERE???!!!
Only if the refs let him play defense here like they did in DC. Good defense relies entirely on the refs agreeing.
Perfect type of defender to slow down the ball handler and set up someone like Donovan Clingan for a swat.
I still can't figure of why they wanted to get rid of him. Even if they are rebuilding he isn't that old.
Listening to @Travis Demers recording from this morning on 1080. He said the market for Brogdon at the deadline was 2 second rounders. I hadn’t heard that. So it seems like the value is Avdija for 2 firsts and 4 seconds lol.
Seems pretty clear to me that the front office values guys we have on cheap deals better than anyone available at 14, 34 or 40 in this draft...this was a great draft as they added talent at two positions by moving one expiring and injured older vet and 14 pick for a guy who was a 9 pick and has a great contract...out of tax hell..full roster...lot of options...Delano Banton and Duop were probably better value for the money than taking their roster spots would be. Absolutely crushed thee draft in my view.
Because with him they were .183 last year, 2nd-worst in the NBA. He was 4th in PER on an awful team (after Gafford, Tyus Jones, Kuzma). What I like: Plays like Walton, Wilkes, and Meyers. His fundamentals look like John Wooden's. He thinks carefully while moving his arms. It's good to see again a player holding up his arms all the time, to be ready for defense or a rebound.
