?

How many trades will the Blazer make on or before Draft night(s)?

Different Ayton idea - what about this? I'd still think we'd want to flip both Grant and Ingram elsewhere, but we might be able to get more for shopping Ingram than Ayton. Pelicans have a huge hole at center with Nance in Atlanta and Jonas now a free agent

Ingram for Garland could make a lot of sense as he doesn't want to play with Mitchell... but then we probably need to find a team for Garland.

    Here we go;

Would need to save salary in Grant or Simons trade so we stay out of the tax.

I'd keep an eye on Detroit. Ausar and Ron are too similar of prospects. Something going on there.

Not too terribly dissimilar from the proposal I'd had a while back with Ant going to Orlando, Grant going to Indy, and Ayton going to Detroit. However, with Brogdon gone, I don't think Ant is going anywhere. At least, not yet.

New GM - he might want to ship out a bunch of the prior GM's drafted guys. Could be a good trade partner for us that is selling low.

Exactly. I'd love to send Ayton to Detroit for a couple of their young guys (Duren? Ivey?). And then maybe Grant to Indy for Walker/filler.

The Lakers' roster might be weak, but they do have 2 decent players who demand a lot of attention allowing players like Reaves to
create. LBJ does not fit well next to some players, but he does fit well with Reaves. Nonetheless, that does not change my point, if Reaves were to come here in a trade for Grant, he wouldn't start over Shae. I guess you could possibly make a case for him starting over Scoot but not Sharpe.

    yes, if...
    1) we also get to throw in Thybulle to lose his salary,
    2) we trade CP3, VERY SOON.

Larry, jokes on you! We made FOUR trades - not a poll option, so everyone got it wrong, lol.

Paul would be a great mentor for Scoot, if he would be willing to be. We'll need some vets that won't expect heavy minutes or shots at some point.

I think CP3 would be willing to do that until after the trade deadline and then we could buy him out and that would give him a chance to go to a contender and try to get a ring. If it's Grant for CP3, the Ws 2026 FRP with no protections and their 2028 FRP with protections but guaranteed to convey as a FRP at some point then I'm good with that trade. I wouldn't take anything less and I wouldn't expect to get more.

No more paying mentors 20 million+. Just sign patty mills, kyle Lowry, john wall etc. If that's what we want.

If you're getting back Paul in a trade, you're already paying him whether he's on the team or not.

The bigger question is if he'd actually oblige.

    I doubt that.

I doubt this would happen but IF it did I think it would play out like this ....

Paul joins the team mentors Scoot gets 15 to 18 minutes per game then the Blazers either trade him or release him so he can join a contending team after the deadline and really no harm no foul so what is your problem with this likely scenario ?

The Warriors aren't going to just offload CP3. They will have some value attached to him. Especially if Klay is likely leaving.

They want to make a big swing.

I don't want old players back that have any value. I want draft picks and/or young talent. We are under the tax, we don't need a salary dump and 2nd rounders or whatever they would add to Paul.

Plus Ayton hates Paul, so if we value Ayton at all, we better not bring CP onto the team.

I wonder if something like this could happen.

Ayton to the Pelicans, Ingram to the Kings and the Blazers would get Barnes and Huerter?
