It's not necessarily them coddling him - more likely it's protecting EVERYBODY from harsh assessments. I mean, Shae played last year and everybody said he was terrible, so maybe they want to avoid a repeat.

In way too early discussion....Reed Sheppard is looking really good! Impressed with his play so far.

I’m a UK guy and man does Reed look good already. UK guards never disappoint.

I’d take Reed. His shot is beautiful.

I wanted him to play, but I can see their point too. Scoot needs a full summer to work on his game. The last thing we need is for something like this to happen (or worse) that takes away any of that time.

Tom Orsborn: Stephon Castle is out for the remainder of Summer League after suffering a right wrist sprain when he fell in Saturday’s win over Portland, Spurs say. It’s a minor injury, but Spurs aren’t taking any chances with the fourth overall pick

Do we pick Reed Sheppard if we get the 3rd pick?

"everybody said" is a bunch of Blazer fans posts.... your statements greatly overestimate how much the team or players care at all about that.

There is no way Scoot is being held out because of what some random Blazer fans might say if he plays bad.

Honestly I thought he should be the clear #1 pick.

That is in this draft - probably the strength of a normal pick closer to #10. Its just Risacher/Sarr/others have major question marks and significant limits to their game. Sheppard is both the most for sure thing and still has a bit of Steve Nash/Stockton/Steph upside.

Is he the most valuable player (as an asset) on the Rockets?

    Just a hypothetical, of course…

Would anyone do a Sheppard for Scoot trade within a package of Jerami going to Houston?

I would've traded away Scoot or Ant and done that. You can have two of that trio on a team but not all 3.

Yes for certain I would swap Scoot and Sheppard.

I highly doubt Houston would be interested though.

Interesting that in this past shitty draft, where some have suggested that Scoot Henderson would/could have gone #1, the #3 player taken might be better? I mean even if Sheppard should have gone #1 as you alluded to, that still dispels some of the comments national "experts" have made about this draft.

Haha I literally said this was why Scoot didn’t play when Castle fell.

I probably would. I thought Sheppard was the most overall talented roundball player in the draft.
