That reminds me of when the Beatles popularized Indian music. At a Ravi Shankar concert around 1969-70, the musicians played for 10-15 boring minutes of chaotic sounds, just like Indian music on the radio, and stopped. The curious British audience politely applauded, after seeing sitars for the first time.
