Dodgers are 3 outs away from a championship. Rizzo might want to think about getting the hell out of NY if the Yankees can’t make a comeback.

Yes, the 1st baseman should have made the out, but the pitcher should be covering 1st base too. If the first baseman bobbles the catch, or makes the catch but slips, it's still an out.

As long as the pitcher is there. To be on the safe side. Was it too much trouble for him to get to first base?

The pitcher stopped running before the ball was fielded.

Did you ever play baseball? This is first day of Spring Training stuff, the pitcher has to get over to cover the bag. Plus you can see that ball had some wicked spin because of how it came off the end of the bat, meaning Rizzo (the four time gold glover) had to stay back to make sure he fielded it properly. I guess though we are going to forget about Judge botching the most routine of fly balls to start the inning, or Volpe/Chisholm with a horrible play. Plenty of blame to go around that NYY clubhouse.

Any time the Yankees lose, it's a win.

PFP is practiced all year every year. That ball is hit way too softly for the first basemen to make the out by himself.

Any other answer is wrong and all people who say those answers are never to talk about baseball ever again. This is the ONLY answer.
