    Time and Material.
A portion of a bid being Time and Material usually is a win for a sub contractor but they also can kill the General Contractor and make it very difficult to actually collect your money.

Terrible location. New stadiums and arenas want nightlife and things to do before and after games, this will not have it. Parking will be horrible.

I agree. Nowhere to build around it either.

Maybe we should build an old stadium then, so that it will want to turn the lights out early, and for those damn kids to quit playing ball on the lawn.

This site is unrealistic and will fizzle out eventually.

Is the site by the Fremont bridge no longer being considered?

    THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!

Close to the original baseball stadium in Portland is the perfect location.

Just south of the Ross Island Bridge (about 500 feet ) is the South Waterfront neighborhood.

If you haven't explored this area, it's really nice with a beautiful waterfront with parks and benches and paths.

(What could become of this shipyard circled in red?)

    upload_2024-11-1_21-58-29.png

The South Waterfront Greenway would be an awesome place to relax before a game, and/or the way to get to the game by bicycle/ foot / etc.

Inside the neighborhood are cool alleyways and walking around here is very pleasant.

With the addition of a few sports bars it would be a perfect place before and after a baseball game.

It kind of feels ready-made for such a purpose. This area has not been affected by what we've seen in other areas of Portland.

As for parking, the site would be right next to the Portland Street Car, which runs in a circle , in BOTH directions around the inner city center.

The Street Car would finally have a purpose. To me, it runs in a ridiculously small circumference but!

it would absolutely fantastic bringing fans from their favorite sports bar nearby to baseball games, then taking them away from the stadium.

    upload_2024-11-1_22-36-45.png

It's also not too much to walk across Tilikum Crossing to parking on the east side.

    upload_2024-11-1_22-42-19.png

The Whole Thing could be Epic. The Street Car transporting fans from inner east and west Portland on game days, boosting the area around OMSI which is slated for development, along with everything along the Street Car loop line (sample phone call to sports bar: "are you near the Street Car?" ) . We know the city could use a purposeful injection of positive energy right now.

And, the South Waterfront would probably become the nicest near-stadium neighborhood in MLB.

That is part of the Zidell land. It's the old Barge yard.

There are also some problems here but yes that would have to become parking for the most part.

Thinking The Steetcar system is the answer to the problems is kind of "Pie in the Sky" thinking. People want to drive. They did get the Timbers fans to use the Max so who knows? The part with max is it's much further reaching and there were no stop and transfer situations for both the Blue and Red lines. The Steetcar is slow and much smaller but it could be expanded I guess?

The problem with concerns about parking are weird.

Outside of the onsite parking at the RG, it's mostly street parking or transit.

There is *no* parking at Providence, and most people get there via transit.

There's limited parking at the convention center too.

Where would the parking be at the terminal location?

The only place that could have ample parking was the one site most people bitched about (Red Tail).

Where is the parking for T-mobile or Seahawk Stadium? Both of them are in industrial areas, right?

How about a water taxi from the East Side (OMSI) to the stadium.

Totally uninformed. The Moda has over 3000 spaces and the convention center adds another 1500.

For those that can do it, tailgating on your boat.
