Both of them, and I'd argue Asur too, were mishandled by Elite (or whatever the name was). It put them back at least 2 years development wise, IMHO.

I would argue that Amen's ceiling is Andre Iguodala. Now, that's pretty fucking good. Scoot's ceiling was supposed to be, I don't know, Baron Davis II?

Of course you're ignoring that the Knicks ALSO acquired Mikal Bridges, who is leading the team in +/- over that span (by a significant margin).

I think the trade made both teams slightly worse. It made the Knicks' defense (their calling card) average at best and it ruined the Wolves' spacing, so now Edwards shoots a ridiculous number of threes.

I'd love to know who works out that percentage!

now, this is for their careers to this point in time:

    upload_2024-11-28_9-17-53.png

if you just want a comparison for this season:

    upload_2024-11-28_9-19-43.png

    upload_2024-11-28_9-20-29.png

    more comparisons of this season:

44% of Amen's shots are at the rim and he's converting at a 77.6% rate; that's excellent. 39% of Scoot's shots are at the rim and he's converting at a 55.4% rate

Scoot is a slightly better FT shooter but his FT Rate is .265; Amen's FT Rate is .523. That's one reason Amen has a far superior TS%

all that said, I'm not sure at this point I'd take Amen over Scoot. Probably, but not if it meant Simons would be a Blazer long term

BBREF used to use Synergy for their numbers; not sure if they still do.

considering that VanVleet + Shepard are combining to average 47 minutes a game, I'd think the numbers are close

Odd that you could come to such a conclusion. Amen was supposed to be years behind Scoot development, but is far superior offensively today, has way better all-NBA level defense.

Simons has nothing to do with either and zero impact if these guys would ever be part of a contender which should be the ultimate aim.

Every time I see this guy continue to blossom it makes me mad that Olshey traded the pick that could have been used to take him for Robert Covington

I'm in favor of hating on Olshey as much as possible (and even beyond possible), but Johnson was taken 20th pick in 2021; Blazers traded the 23rd pick; after trading the 16th pick the year before

    2020 draft:

16 Isaiah Stewart (first pick traded for RoCo)
    19 Saddiq Bey
    21 Tyrese Maxey
    25 Immanuel Quickley
    28 Jaden McDaniels
    30 Desmond Bane

    2021 draft:

23 Usman Garuba (2nd pick traded)
    27 Cam Thomas
    30 Santi Aldama
    35 Herbert Jones

    upload_2024-11-28_10-21-25.png

by the way, notice how Olshey fore-shadowed his idiotic 7 -year encumbrance on the Nance trade by first attaching the same idiocy to the RoCo trade

Look at Camara. BBref says that he has played 0% at PG, 0% at SG, and 0% at SF. It's also says that
he's played PF 87% of the time, and C 13% of the time. These stats are obviously wrong.

So, I guess my answer is "very often".

again: VanVleet and Shepard combine to average 47 minutes a game and they are both obviously PG's. Now, there is obviously going to be some overlap in those minutes but I just looked at Houston's lineups top-20 5 man units:

    upload_2024-11-28_11-2-37.png

looking at that, Thompson appears on the floor with either VanVleet or Shepard for for about 290 minutes. He only shows up for 52 minutes without those two PG's on the floor, and all of those minutes are with Jalen Green on the floor at the same time. VanVleet and Shepard were only on the floor together for 13 minutes

I'd say Houston just runs a little of the time without a PG on the floor

My God, be patient people! Dirk Nowitzki shot 21% from 3 in his rookie year. Let Scoot get comfortable. Get rid of Ant. Let Scoot settle in as a starting PG. His 3 was falling last night. Patience!!

Last ten games: Banton our only net positive, Ant and Ayton are true tank commanders:

And Scoot shot 38% from 3 in that slate of games. Scoot is going to be awesome in a couple years. He’ll be better than Billups and he won Finals MVP.
