5 straight losses. 21 goals against. 10 goals scored. Shesty can go fuck himself wanting the biggest goalie contract ever. I’d rather trade him and tank then pay him and continue to see this shit show go on for the entirety of his contract. Think of what the return would be for him, Fox and even Miller. That would be the beginning of a TRUE rebuild. Then you fire Drury, fire Lavi and get a REAL GM in here that has done this before and a coach that isn’t afraid of vets and benching them when they suck.

That was an embarrassing start from the guys out there cruising watching Flyers buzz the goal beating them to every loose puck to the coach working his gum with no emotion or answer to the onslaught. It seems unusual that so many players are making lackluster effort and having down seasons. I said over the summer that last year's postseason failure was primarily on Lav being outcoached but Drury certainly is right with him. I don't understand why Drury keeps announcing players are being dealt or they're on the block when there is no concrete trade in place, definitely affects team morale. If he's moving CK announce a deal, Trouba has already said he's not moving until next year so Chris will have to focus on the many other possibilities.

Berard is a perfect example of what a lazy hump Krappo has been over the years wasting a spot on the Rangers roster, Brett hustles every shift like Cuylle to Lav's credit he gave him 15 minutes and Cuylle 19 but then there's DJMeekass getting top minutes including the end of game with Igor pulled when he wouldn't get off the ice. and of course Fox was out there for 23 minutes . Someone needs to throw a helmet.

Lavs is obviously looking to get fired. He looks like Boone on the bench. Maloney after the first period basically called them a bunch of pussies for not coming to panerins defense. Berard needs to stay up here as the kid has a good motor and a good shot. I’m praying for Fox to be traded along with lindgren, miller, zman and countless others. Reduce zmans time or waive his ass and let him ride the busses in the minors. He’ll waive that NTC very quickly.. And oh yes fire the over his head dritu

They basically need to change out half the team.

JT Miller seems somewhat disgruntled in Vancouver, salary about the same as Mika, he's the kind of player the Rangers could use, with the cold weather Drury likes to sit on his hands to keep them warm.

J.T. Miller is a head case. That being said, he’s a better player than Zibanejad especially in the playoffs. Early on in his career, he didn’t score in the playoffs but the last two playoffs he does and he obviously does everything else better than Zibanejad. Zibanejad’s playoff numbers are deceiving most of them come on the power-play verse teams who can’t kill penalties.

There are reports the Rangers are interested in JT, but it might be a difficult deal to make due to the cap. For sure Kreider or Mika would need to be involved, and then you also have to factor in NMC's/NTC's. The situation Drury put himself in is not an enviable one, that's what happens when you are awful at your job, we'll see if he has the skills to wiggle out of it (he clearly doesn't but I needed a good laugh).

BTW - I thought Micheletti was great yesterday. He was critical of the team, it was maybe the most critical, and honest, commentary on their own team from an analyst I have heard in a long time. Good for him, he was spot on IMO.

Good article from Brooks, essentially a mess all around. He gets on Drury again, and rightfully so. His communication skills are awful, in addition to his overall lack of ability to do the job he is in. And Trouba has been terrible. Let's be real here, for the past year +/- Trouba has been simply horrific. Trouba and Zibanejad are the top two to go on my list (here's an excerpt):

The league-wide memo distributed by Drury, advertising that Chris Kreider and Jacob Trouba were among the many available, seems to have blown up in the GM’s face.

Why he would have sent that missive instead of peeling the paint off the wall in no uncertain terms in a face-to-face meeting with the team in the room either on an off day or after a game is beyond me.

The Rangers have a lame-duck captain who seems to have checked out. Perhaps that’s only natural. Trouba knows the Rangers had every intention of trading him in the offseason, before he used whatever leverage he could to block a deal. He knows he is on the block now.

I was wrong about Trouba. I had thought his bond with his teammates would exceed his distaste for the hierarchy. But, and likely subconsciously, Trouba has become a pedestrian, which is something no one would ever have said before.

He performed an olé while ushering Travis Konecny to the net for the 2-0 goal that would have made Roger Dorn from “Major League” blush. Over the past 16 games, in which the Blueshirts have gone 7-9, Trouba has been on for nine goals scored and 19 against with a 43.71 expected goal share. He has disappeared as a physical force.

    This has become unhealthy.

This has become an untenable situation.

Miller is not bringing back Kreider and Zibanejad. Please. Not with his head case issues. If Zibanejad accepts a trade you probably have to throw in a marginal prospect.

Drury as we have said looks to be in way over his head. You can almost guarantee he will get walked all over with any trade he tries to make. The man has failed incredibly to better this group. Deadline pickups that you end up losing and then some when you don’t win the cup are useless.

I disagree on Miller. Vancouver isn't going to simply give away their 2nd best player and leading scorer. And the main point is one of Kreider or Mika would have to be included in the larger package for Miller due to cap reasons, he makes $8M per for the next 5 seasons after this one.

With that said, I think it is pointless to discuss Mika though, as I don't see him going anywhere with a NMC. Too bad, but another Drury special.

Well stated. I think he is really awful at his job. Outside of signing Trocheck I am not sure what he has done.

A conveyor belt of trade DL acquisitions leave for nothing, last season he got an F- at the trade DL when they actually had a shot, then he let players walk for nothing and only added terrible Smith and Carrick, making the team clearly worse, and with a stale core that to anyone paying attention and being real and honest about things, needed to be broken up badly or the current bad team would be the result.

It's just terrible, and to me it was clear from the second he got the job he was not ready to be Pres/GM of an organization, and I wrote that very day it was a terrible move by Sather/Dolan. Unfortunately, that is spot on.

Yup, last year’s trade deadline is unforgivable. Had the best chance and relied on their regular season success.
