He was barely running up and down the court, his effort was pathetic

When you bring this up over and over again you act like those of us calling for Stotts to be replaced were saying, replace him with just anybody... I think we all wanted a quality hire and most of us wanted Olshey gone first and the new GM to decide who would coach the team.

You also spin this thing you keep spinning like it was Stotts' third season or Stotts had done something significant (like winning a title). The dude got 9 seasons with a team without winning one game past the second round of the playoffs. That is unprecedented in NBA history. No other coach in the history of the game has ever coached a team for more than 8 seasons without a win in the Conference finals and no coach has ever coached for nine full seasons without making the Finals. Those are facts.

Sloan was in his ninth season when he coached his team to the finals against Jordan but they'd already made the conference finals three times and won games all three times they made it. Flip Saunders made in halfway through his ninth season as the Wolves head coach but in his eighth full season he'd made the conference finals and won two games.

You act again and again like people wanting Stotts out after an unprecedented run of mediocrity is somehow dumb... I think expecting a team to continue unprecedented acceptance of failure from a head coach is crazy. Relitigating it pretty much every other day for the last three and a half years is pretty crazy too and that's what you do every time you bring it up. I get it that I don't know the guy and you do but he was given more of a chance without winning a game in the conference finals than any coach in the history of the league. Not getting why so many thought it was time for him to go is choosing not to see common sense.

Just need a few more 40+ points losses and we might be able to get some more.

Oh trust me the winning part of it doesn’t bother me at all. I am all for losing. But the showcasing part of the vets is annoying to me. That’s why I reacted. We don’t need Grant or Simons playing more than 30 minutes a night if the goal is to lose. give extra minutes to the developing guys.

Heck the "showcasing" has been a disaster so far as ANT and Grant especially have been pretty damn bad, Ayton is just what he is, mo increasing any "value" whatsoever

Where you got to be? You aren’t going anywhere. None of the fans are. The one nob on here who a started a thread about it, but he wasn’t going to the games anyways.

You don't have to be somewhere specific to waste time watching games. I do it pretty well from my couch.

Fans are certainly going somewhere, that's why you have a ton Blazers games with tickets selling for $7. Eventually this year I'll just watch other NBA teams, watch other sports, or focus on other hobbies. Years ago when we're playing for the playoffs or had exciting youth I'd watch every game. I'm certainly not the only one - if anything its rare to have fans closely watch every Blazer game in recent years. You can also see from the sentiment on this site when we don't have young players to root for but still losing with a veteran big 3 of Grant Ant Ayton dominating the offense - even many hardcore fans that would watch a losing rebuild are greatly put off.

Its been 4 years of patience with little payoff. I don't get what timeline your patience suggestion is implying - as we don't appear to be years away from anything exciting happening.

Hold on, so if the team is winning and competing there will be more viewers and more in attendance? Get outta’ here. HA!
No shit FAMS….what I’m saying is, the fan base will never leave. It simply won’t, not in this market. Are you saying they will never return?

No, just that we are well past the period of your "patience" comment being something many of us can accept. The team is both losing a lot and doesn't play exciting young players. Until that changes myself and many here will find the team extremely difficult to watch.

I watch every game. But I’m not glued to it like I would be when we had meaningful games.

It’s on the TV, I start looking at other things when they start sucking and then boom it’s the 4th quarter. And I ask myself, how did this game get away from us?!?!?

Understood…. But some seem to realize, people freaking out every game thread because we’ll like shit and are losing….. we knew this going in. Nothing should be a surprise when it comes to the outcome of these games this season. Just have a little patience. It’s the only way you’ll get thru this. Getting pissed off every game ain’t gonna help.

Seems like people have just stopped going to game threads - it was over 400 posts the start of the year and now under 100. I think years ago they could get to 1000+?

Sure there are a couple people freaking out but most the posts I read just seem where people are upset with vets playing or the coach strategy more than the team actually losing. The coaching thing has been a thing for over 30 years so I think thats just a Blazer or NBA fan comment - even if the team was winning.
