He was President during very tough times. Whether you agreed with him or not he was a good decent man who tried to help everyone.
Yup...He was from Plains which is about 30 miles from me...Jimmy was genuinely a very nice and honest man who simply did not fit in with the beurocracy in Washington DC. Always though he got a bad rap concerning the hostage fiasco...OKed the military to implement an Entebbe type rate to rescue the hostages in Tehran...wasn't his fault that a sand storm popped up and that 3 helicopters broke down/crashed in the failed attempt. But he was the POTUS and got blamed for it anyway.
