This team really is set up for nice future assuming Scoot and Sharpe make a jump. Deni and Toumani are both very solid forwards. I’m not 100% sold on Clingan as a great center only because he’s not super mobile so smaller lineups will make him almost useless. That’s where keeping RW would be an advantage

Deni Avdija over his last 6 games:

    20 PPG / 8.2 RBG / 2.0 Steals per game / 64% True Shooting %

    Blazers record 5 - 1

Yeah we probably need someone that's a superstar caliber talent and we also need a small ball 5... not just sticking Deni there but actually get a guy who will allow us to dictate the matchup instead of the other way around.

According to posters here he'd only need 18 mpg until 2028 when our 36 year old Jerami Grant is still starting in front of him.

I agree but also think there’s still a chance we have that superstar on the roster. In my opinion Sharpes ceiling is still all star level. He does everything so easily, when he’s the main go to he seems to excel but when he’s not he defers. Maybe it’s a coaching change or just maturing but he has top 10 talent.

I truly believe if Ant and Grant are traded we’ll see him make a big jump in aggressiveness. He needs to know/believe it’s his team

I like Avdija but if he's the best player on the team (he might be now), that team is heading for a zip-code in Purgatory. Deni, and Camara as well, can be great supporting players and glue guys on a good team. But they have to be supporting at least one elite player and another all-star level player instead of supporting deeply flawed role players like Simons and Ayton

Sengun, and then probably Jalen Green.

probably Sengun. But we might want to see Houston actually win a playoff series before judging if they are a contender or a pretender. By the way, Sengun and Green are both 22. Avdija is 24

Green will be 23 in about a week. And is a worse version of Anfernee.

Speaking of elite players is there anyone besides Jokic that absolutely can carry a team to a championship?

Maybe a couple but none at his level or have proven to be at his level. We are so young I’m still not sure if we do or don’t have elite player on current roster. I know we have some great role player pieces on the team with Deni, Clingan and Toumani.

Also why can’t Deni be all star at some point?

Deni could be an all star. I'm just not convinced he WILL yet

Deni plays similar to the Greek Freak. Certainly not saying he as talented put he plays with the same type of energy and pushes the ball. When you consider his size and how he runs the floor, not to many in that club.

Clingan, Avdija, Camara — young quality. Any potential all star selections? (Injury replacement player?) Maybe.
Scoot, Sharpe — same comment, same question, same answer. Too early with Scoot’s recent improvement, and Sharpe’s 2nd contract SHOULD be offered and signed after Simons and others are gone. Sharpe needs a runway. A different context to see what he will do.

Is it Sharpe team or Scoots team? Could this be an issue in a few years?

Doesn't matter. Successful one equals success for the other.

    If it's a competition there's a problem.

To me it will never be "Sharpe's team", just does not seem to have the personality/passion to be "that guy"
