He was a mediocre starter by the 92 season, and by 92-93, his role had changed drastically, and by 93/94, he was averaging about 16 minutes a night.

Absolutely they should have kept Petro, and absolutely CD should have played more SF. Even in 91' their best unit was the 3 guard unit with Porter, Ainge, and Clyde. They just did not use it enough IMO

    Agreed.

The league was guard/wing dominated at that point. Yeah, there was Hakeem, Ewing and Robinson, but who did the Pistons have at 5? Who did the Bulls have at 5? Who did the Lakers have at 5?

Not a dominant big man in the bunch. Only Houston, of the big men who were dominant, won titles in that stretch.

I think Rick saw Petro is a weird Euro guy he couldn't trust (and admittedly, wasn't good at defense). But the teams overall defense was good enough it could have handled Petros so-so defense.

There's a reason why the 91 team lost when it did, and the 92 team did. Not saying Petro starting would've turned the page, but it could've created easier options on offense for Drexler and Porter. Jerome, Buck and Duck were not exactly known as offensive threats.

So Beal made $610,000 last night alone and this Gillespie kid makes $578,000 a SEASON!

PHX made a hell of a comeback. I thought that game was over in the 3rd.

So his argument is that the Knicks need to somehow get gifted a top 5 player for pennies on the dollar?

No, he has never led a team to a championship without a bunch of other stars pulling the weight.

    He's a black hole.

Laimbeer wasn’t nobody. Nor was Divac and even Bill Cartwright. Nor Duck, really.

That's neat, but Laimbeer, Divac, Cartright and Duck weren't dominant...which was my fucking point.

He didn't win a title until 2000. The league was a guard dominated league in the 80's and for most of the 90's.
