Joe mentioning he is revisiting tradeline deals in the off season is a credible enough source close to the org that I pay attention. This lines up with what he said back then. As far as the writer...I never called him a credible source but his content seemed pretty in line with what I think they'll do given our circumstances. That's all I've got but if you have a better idea of what Joe had lined up, let me know what you think it is. Revisiting a deal is hardly saying that it's a done deal. It lines up with other's ideas that we're trading the pick this draft.

Exactly. IF someone is stating there is a trade rumor going around - then they should provide the source. This source is absolutely garbage.

Paying 2 firsts for Markenen is absolutely asinine IMO. He's essentially a slightly younger Grant on a worse contract.

Choices...show me your take on the deal Joe said he'd revisit in the offseason and tell me if it leads to a conversation about the roster or just a complaint about the rumor...to me the discussion is worth the speculation. You tell me how you know this guy is (fill in the insult). Because he plays Frisbee golf? It's a rumor, not breaking news...a simple, "I don't like that deal" would suffice. Markannen makes us a better offensive team than Grant but you see them as the same? I'd do this deal in a heartbeat but try and just include one pick, not two. Joe has worked with Ainge in the past

Exactly correct. It amazes me how conditioned people are to trust 'authority' (or someone who appears to have it).

 

I think our main positional need is a small ball 5 to offset what Clingan isn't. I actually like Rasheer Fleming for that and he happens to be a knockdown shooter. I think we could acquire a pick that makes sense for him from the Magic for Ant if we're not taking back anything else that the Magic really value. We could trade back pick him and a high upside guy.

I think we have pretty good secondary playmakers in Shaedon and Deni but maybe we're defining that role differently. For sure you're right we need some really consistent shooters. Tou, Shae, Deni and Scoot all have the potential to be knockdown shooters but I would love to add a player or two that has/have already developed a knockdown jumper out to three point land.

Trade rumor season is upon us. It's supposed to be fun.

 

It is supposed to be fun but there is also a difference between a rumor and a trade idea but it's cool we now all know when you say rumor you're most likely talking about an idea.
