    hmmm, good point.

I think what really rattled me was last year. Everyone getting on Vince's case because he didn't wanna give Jordan his spot. If people WANTED to see Jordan he would have been voted in.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">The people I WANNA see are the people who SHOULD be there. Being an All Star has lost it's credibility because of fans who want to see dunks and highlights and have no appreciation for a player's contribution to his team and to the league. Being an All Star used to be one of the criterias for making it into the Hall of Fame, but voters will not be able to use it as a standard anymore because of the ridiculous fan voting habits. If you want to see Dunks, watch the Dunk contest, but keep the All Star game for the deserving players, not the most popular players.</div>

that's why people can only get 5 players in the game .. and the other 7 will be picked by the coaches according to " who deserves it " .. stats and value wise !

and the players who the people will vote for must have done ( or doing ) something special that makes people vote for him !
other than his dunking .. Vince doesn't deserve to be a starter at the game ??

    I know .. that's great [IMG]

Vote Earl Boykins Into The Allstar Game... ***** Shaq.... Watching Shaq At The Allstar Game Is Sooo Boring... He Just Pushes Guys Over And Dunks By Jumping 1.8 Inches Off The Ground.

:tear: It brings a tear to my eye that people are voting for Garnett.

1 ..// It shows he deserves to start.
2 ..// It shows that everyone wants to see him play.

    [IMG] (of joy)

    Here is my votes...

    <font size="1">West
    G ..// Francis / Marbury
    F ..// Garnett / Lewis
    C ..// Shaqueer

    East
    G ..// Iverson / Davis
F ..// Pierce / Mashburn (I vote for him every year... he really deserves to be there)
    C ..// Iggy</font>

G: Boykins/Bones (so sue me, at least he'll get a vote)*
    F: Lewis/KG
    C: Yao

    G: Diddy/JT
    F: PP/Mash
    C: Z

    Write in: Flip

I know players like Kidd, AI, TMac etc deserve to be there, but they'll get voted by the coaches if not by the fans so I vote for people who I wanna see, but probably wouldn't make it otherwise. I don't really buy into the 'deserving' to be an Allstar, that's what the all NBA teams are for. All star game is just a spectacle and a great one at that.

*Would vote for Ray over Earl but his ankles are already injury prone, rather see him sit it out.

Hey, as long as A.I. T-Mac, VC, Franchise, Starbury and LeBron play their minutes, I got no complaints.

Curry should start at C in the east, and if Tyson keeps this up, he should too(either or, i dont think both will make it this year)

Curry to start over big Ben? don't think so.

Chandler isn't close to Jermaine O'Neal in terms of play and with the fans..no Bulls will make the all-star game unless they do something speical..but I highly doubt they will.

In the all-star ballots then do...Ben defends alot of the centers when he is on court..He is now listed as a PF..but he switches alot during games.

Ilguaskas is having as good a season as Curry, probably better. He's shooting way better and averaging less fouls and turnovers too - One more season and I think Curry will be the dominant centre in the East, but for now I reckon Z's ahead of him.

ummm...why is Yao and Dampier in some of your lineups instead of Shaq? [IMG]
    Please stop hating.

Mine would go something like this:

    East:
    PG- Baron Davis
    SG- Allen Iverson
    SF- Tracy Mcgrady
    PF- Jermaine O'Neal
    C- Ben Wallace

    West:
    PG- Stephon Marbury
    SG- Kobe Bryant
    SF- Kevin Garnett
    PF- Tim Duncan
    C- Shaq

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting King James:</div><div class="quote_post">LeBron will be a starter, because that is what people want to see (plus the stats are there), just think about how many sick passes he will dish out when he has all stars around him. Melo won't get voted in my opinion, he will be around the other top forwards, just not enough to make it.</div>

IMO LeBron doesn't deserve to be a starter, and doesn't have the stats. Players take this seriously, it's all about fun but when it comes down to the end you want your side to win. This is a game for the elite players in the league to go at it. LeBron is only 18, he is not an elite player in the league yet, I don't want to see him there this year.
