The Stanford game was almost as impressive as LSU's 4 point win over that mighty power house of a football school TROY this year. LSU is very lucky they didn't have to meet USC last year for the National Championship.

This year the offense can't do anything. Last year they did what they needed to. LSU was not overrated last year. However, preseason polls did have them overrated this year. Randall and Russell are horrible, and their run game is nowhere near what it was last year, probably due to losing the right side of the O line. USC vs LSU would have been a great game last year. Too bad it didn't get played.
LSU was no where near overrated last year. If you think USC is sooo great, name the top 25 teams they played this year. And OU did not almost lose to Stanford. Yea LSU did beat Troy by 4, but look at the Auburn game. They lost by 1 point. If LSU is soo bad this year how do you lose that game by 1 point? Lets not forget it should have gone into overtime also. Auburn won on a BOGUS penalty. Also look for LSU to win out the rest of the year.
Also, LSU would have beaten USC last year. Michigan played a horrible game against USC. Not saying USC should have lost, but it should have been alot closer. USC did not even come close to playing a DEF like LSU last year.
I agree LSU was not overrated last year. the Tigers & Trojans playing would have been a game for the ages. I'll laugh my ass off when OU loses in the B12 c'ship again.
LSU is the worst national champion of the 25 years. As for ranked teams USC has played and beat. Cal and ASU come to mind in conference. Cal is #4 in the country. I also agree that auburn played a bad game to only beat LSU by 1.

Seems to me that's why USC was in the 3 spot...they didn't beat anyone until UM in the Rose Bowl...LSU beat UGA twice, and had only one loss in arguably the strongest football conference in the nation. USC was overrated last year. LSU was not. OU was overrated last year, too...
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BearsFan1)</div><div class='quotemain'>Spoken like a LSU fan</div> You're right, I am an LSU fan. However, I am rarely blinded by team colors. LSU has a fantastic team last year. This year, not so much.
I don't know how I can be blinded by team colors when I hate USC. But I do know USC would have dominated LSU just like it did to Michigan. LSU beat a team that just got worked in the Big 12 Championship game by Kansas State. Oklahoma had no business being there and LSU was lucky for that to happen. You say that USC didn't come close to playing a defense like LSU, well you should also say that LSU didn't come close to meeting offense like USC's. LSU won the bullcrap BCS title and good for them but USC would have beat them if the stupid computers would have allowed it.

Speculation doesn't award championships. If that were the case, the preseason list would be the almighty. For much of the season, the OU offense was regarded as one of the best, and LSU held them to 14 points. And those points came off a short field due to turnovers late. LSU beat a 1 loss team and USC beat a 2 loss team. LSU beat UGA twice. USC lost to Cal. LSU lost to UF...neither team was that good. USC had the voters because they were ranked higher to start the season, if I remember correctly. LSU was rated 13, I believe. LSU won the competition the way the schools agreed the title should be awarded. Period. USC got the voters because they were ranked higher in August. I'm not going to say USC or LSU was better than the other, because nobody will ever know...but to insinuate LSU didn't deserve a piece of the title is disrespecting a very good team. Same can be said of USC. LSU vs USC should have been the matchup, but it wasn't. Both teams were recognized as champs.
The BCS is the worst thing to happen in all of sports. Any title should be decided on the field. LSU vs USC would have been great! And since I am a huge UCLA fan I would have been rooting for LSU.

A playoff would be the best solution, but I don't see it being feasible because of the money and tradition wrapped up in the bowl games. It's a clusterfuck at best.
I don't think OU is THAT overrated. They might not be #2, but they're still a very good football team

Not saying LSU would have shut them down, but it would have been a close game. USC was a great team last year. But Michigan played a bad game. I think Mich. gave up 5 or 6 sacks?? And they had given up 4 or something around there all season. LSU also did not play a great game against OU. If you take away the turnovers (which i know you can't) the score would have been 35-7 LSU. Also, If any team gets beat that bad or beat period, it isn't gonna kill their confidence or spirit. ESP. for the Nat Champ. All any sportscaster was saying before the Sugar Bowl was how great OU's DEF. was and it was #1 in the nation. And anyone, even you, cannot say LSU wasn't the best DEF. last year.
