Quoting MainEvent:

How about Chris Thomas? Will he give anyone a competition at making All-American team? He was going to enter the draft, but made a smart decision to return.

Every year I go in with high expectations for three players: Torin Francis, Jason Frazer, and Chris Thomas. Out of high school, all three were top 5-10 prospects and were thought of very highly. They were all projected future lottery picks and were supposed to have great college careers. Every year they really let me down though. I don't know what to expect with them. So much potential.

Oh, one more player I forgot. Bracey Wright. I think he should be mentioned somewhere. He also made a good decision to return to college.

How can you people say Sean May, he is the softest player in the ACC, I love UNC(favorite team/dad's alma-mater) but they need to get him to not be such a baby. Eric Williams made him his biatch all season long. And he started whining when his minutes went down.I watched a total of 22 UNC games last season, and everygame Sean May played weak D.

I don't care if Eric Williams made him his "biatch". There's a weak center crop out there, and Sean May puts up the best stats while playing for the highest profile team.

His stats won't be that high considering, the amount of talented players UNC has. And no matter what he won't ever be drafted higher than 20th.

UNC has a Center coming in that could take playing time away from May? Who? May won't be drafted higher than 20th? What makes you the draft expert? Sources?

These guys are good players but no where near All American Quality. If any of the 3 its going to be Thomas.

Well Thomas WAS a pre-season 2nd Team All-American by Street and Smith's College Hoops, but wasn't his season last season. I really hope he breaks out this season, though.

you might want to add Joey Graham if you are going to make
4 deep lists....he's a legit 20-10-5 guy that pretty much does
whatever he pleases against most college teams.

Left out

Quoting Voodoo Child:

Haha, don't give me too much credit. If I made 2nd and 3rd teams then he'd probably be on them. He was a runner-up last year, and the competition level only dropped while his talent level rose. :-)

Had Devin Harris returned to Wisconsin, he would have been my guess for Player of the Year and Wisconsin would still be my favorite for #1. Damn you Devin... [IMG]

Ya' know, I'll just do all my predictions in this thread -

1st Team
G - Julius Hodge (North Carolina State)
G - Raymond Felton (University of North Carolina)
F - Wayne Simien (Kansas University)
F - Hakim Warrick (Syracuse University)
C - Sean May (University of North Carolina) (Changed my mind. I think Nelson may be better and have better stats next year, but May will most likely get the nod based on his UNC status.)

2nd Team
G - Chris Paul (Wake Forest)
G - Kennedy Winston (University of Alabama)
F - Ryan Gomes (Providence)
F - Lawrence Roberts (Mississippi State University)
F - Ronny Turiaf (Gonzaga) (Remember, they didn't go by the g-g-f-f-c formatt last year.)

3rd Team
G - Rashad McCants (University of North Carolina)
G - Travis Diener (Marquette)
G/F - Shariff Chambliss (University of Wisconsin)
F - Paul Davis (Michigan State University)
C - Matt Nelson (Colorado State University)

4th Team
G - Francisco Garcia (University of Louisville)
G - B.J. Elder (Georgia Tech)
G - Keith Langford (Kansas University)
F - Sean Banks (Memphis Jr. High)
C - Channing Frye (University of Arizona)

Freshman Team
G - Daniel Gibson (University of Texas)
G - Darius Washington, Jr. (Memphis Jr. High)
F - Randolph Morris (University of Kensucky)
F - LaMarcus Aldridge (University of Texas)
C - Brian Butch (University of Wisconsin)

Player of the Year -
Wayne Simien (Kansas University)
Freshman of the Year -
Brian Butch (University of Wisconsin)

I'd say those are pretty good predictions except for Chris Thomas, who I think is a lock for first team, and Torin Francis of Notre Dame, I'd say is a possible 1st team, probable for 2nd team.

What are you talking about? That's extremely biased. There's no way Francis makes any of the teams, and Thomas is not predicted to make any either.

You just sit back and watch both of them become All-Americans. I guarantee it.

Thomas and Francis had fabulous years last year, especially since they were both playing hurt. Francis had such bad back spasms, he had to sit out the last 15 games or so, but was leading the team in blocks and rebounds. And Thomas started every game last year with a sore left knee, which he had surgery on after the season, and still was pretty impressive amongst the elite guards in the country.

And another thing, I've just about heard 'nuff about Chris Paul. Guess what everybody! He's not gonna be an All-American! How about that! I'm probably gonna get lotta crap from sayin that, but I don't care, cuz I'm right in sayin its Chris Thomas 1st team All-American...and Player of the Year. Did I mention the Irish are going to win the title in '05?

First off, calm down a bit. It's obvious that your biased towards Chris Thomas and Notre Dame, because you are an Irish fan. But Thomas a first team All-American, Player of the Year, and Notre Dame winning the championship? Please... [IMG]

Alright, that's just flat out biased. I don't care what you say.

BTW - Don't double post again. There's such a thing as the edit button.

Alright the reason why May won't go higher than 20th is because he doesn't have enough heart and good work ethic. No there isn't an incoming center but with all the talent he won't get the ball as much and Marvin Williams will take a whole lot of touches that he used to get aweay from him.

This is a misconception right here and a big one. Sean May hurt his ankle in one of the games against Wake(maybe it wasn't his ankle but it was some kind of injury)and he played on for awhile and Eric Williams got the best of him but otherwise Sean May took it to Eric Williams.

I can't believe a Carolina fan is down on Sean May. He is the key to UNC's hopes. When he is in the game UNC is flatout a better team. I watched every single UNC game last season and let me say that Sean May is the best player on the squad, and that includes Felton. I expect May to be huge this season after a full season and offseason under Roy Williams.

Andrew Bogut hasn't even got a mention. Coming back to Utah with OLYMPIC experience, as a starter and he doesn't even get a mention into anyones teams. He will absolutely dominate like no other this year, and will be top 10 pick in the NBA draft. Kid is a beast.
