A league source told the Toronto Globe & Mail that Carter would only return to the Raptors as a last resort. "He wants out and he needs to go," said the source. "He is very, very firm on that. He needs to go. They're supposed to be working on something right now. It might have to involve a third team, or they may have to acquire someone and pass him through." Knicks president Isiah Thomas is reportedly interested in making a deal and would "give up anyone on his roster outside Stephon [Marbury]."</div> <div align="center">Link</div>
I love these unnamed sources coming out of the woodwork. Unless Starbury is part of a deal that sends Vince to NY, don't hold your breath on this idiotic demand of Vince's or his unnamed source.
^I couldn't have said it better myself. The only player worth trading in NY is Starbury. After that, your pickings are mighty slim.
Yeah, who would the Raps want besides Starbury?Kurt Thomas,Allan Houston?I dont see any trade going down between these teams.

Well the whole idea is that we are going to get a third team involved. My guess is that Atlanta will be in on this.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting rapsfan15:</div><div class="quote_post">I would trade Vince for Allan Houston and Tim Thomas, nothing less</div> That will never happen. If it did I would be the happiest man alive. Houston's career will never be the same and Whiny Tim just plain sucks.
Carter can't get to New York without Zeke parting with Marbury, which also won't happen. If a third team gets involved, they'd be giving players to Toronto that are better they are receiving from New York... so why would they (e.g. Dallas) want to get involved, when they're getting poop like Tim Thomas and Shandon Anderson?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Knicks Analyst:</div><div class="quote_post">Well the whole idea is that we are going to get a third team involved. We know ATL isn't giving up both unless they get a superstarish player too.
A three-way deal would look like this: Toronto sends Carter to New York New York sends Tim Thomas (for instance) to 3rd team 3rd team sends ?? to Toronto Toronto is going to want a superstar or hot young prospect from the 3rd team. But which 3rd team would participate in the deal when all they're getting away is Tim Thomas? They might as well go for Vince themselves... It will never happen.
If vince want's to come here, Zeke will find a way to make-it happen. People keep sayin TT suxs. TT is good player who causes match-up problems cause of his size. What makes him unattractive is his contract, not his game. Man, I would love to see Vince here. It's gonna be hard to make happen, but not impossibe.
Players always reportly state they want to play for New York but when was the last time a good free-agent ever signed there? Or infact when has a trade ever happened where a player wanted to play in New York? Stephon Marbury is the only guy that comes to mind. The New York media love to hype up the Knicks and act like every player in the NBA Love the Knicks when in truth thats never the case. Vince is not going to New York, the Knicks don't even have any good trade value part from Marbury, who NY will refuse to part with. You also need to factor in the Raptors would lose alot of big time cash on trading their ticket guy. Unless they can get a high marketable player back, Vince Carter will NEVER get traded. Not only would the Raptors but worse off, the Raptors management would lose money.
Just curious <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Knicks Analyst:</div><div class="quote_post">Well the whole idea is that we are going to get a third team involved. My guess is that Atlanta will be in on this.</div> who do you possibly think atlanta would give up.

And yeah, Tim Thomas is a fine player, but no 3rd team is going to send Toronto a player (say Ray Allen, Allen Iverson) when all they're getting is Tim Thomas. They might as well deal with Toronto straight up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting RiverspoonJones:</div><div class="quote_post">If Isiah Thomas can't get Jamal Crawford, he's not going to be able to get Vince Carter. </div> Don't you think that Isiah may pursue Carter a little bit more than Crawford? Thought so.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Knicks Analyst:</div><div class="quote_post">Don't you think that Isiah may pursue Carter a little bit more than Crawford? If you can suggest one, I'm open-minded, I'll take it on board... but I just don't think the Knicks have anything of value other than Stephon Marbury.
