<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">LOS ANGELES -- The Big Guy had a big-hearted message for his Los Angeles fans Sunday.

Shaquille O'Neal took out a full-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times to thank his fans for their support during his eight years with the Los Angeles Lakers. O'Neal signed last week with the Miami Heat, marking the end of an era during which the Lakers won three NBA championships.

"I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your incredible support over the last eight years," O'Neal said in the ad, which included a picture of him smiling and gripping a basketball in one hand. "I am moving on to the next chapter in my career, but I will never forget the support that you gave me."</div>

I know that is what pissed me off when SOME laker fans did that just forgetting all the great years he performed for the team. He loves the laker team and there orginization, but he just doesnt like kobe just because of that should be no reason for people not to like him.

He is probable not only the biggest guy in the NBA, but has the biggest heart of any NBA player I have ever seen. He doesnt and wont forget everyone that helped and supported him in the lakers orginization like some fans have choosen to do to him.

He does have a big heart, like him or hate him. This was a very loving and caring thing to do for the fans and he gained some respect back from the city, He will go into the HOF as a laker and will be a Laker for life...3 Finals MVPs, 8 seasons, 1 legend though...one man, Shaq.

I dont think he HATED KOBE. They had disagreements. People love to throw the word "HATE" all over the place. Hate is a pretty serious word if you look it up in the dictionary. I miss the big fella and wish him the best of luck. Thanks Shaq.

Very classy move by Shaq. With everything that's been going on in the offseason with all this drama, it always feels good that former Laker players can look back and remember where he came from. I wish him the very best in Miami.

That's a great move on his behalf. Really classy, and a fitting way to sign off as one of the greatest Lakers of all time.

very nice thing to do...i still dont like the guy...but i appreciate and respect what he did for our team over the years and appreciate the gesture...

i have changed my stance and i think people should look at it a little bit more carefully...it wasnt shaq's play, it wasn't shaqs problems with kobe bryant, nor was it kobes play, or kobes problems with shaq...the problem had become shaq's contract...plain and simple...and i do believe jerry buss when he said oneal would have been moved even if he had gotten along with kobe...the team still wouldnt have gone anywhere...

shaq posted this so he won't get booed at staples, nice thinkin' of him. he will also get an acknowledgement award the next time he return to staples and a standing ovation, nice thinkin' shaq [IMG] then he's gonna play hard against the lakers, which is not a surprise. he'll show the lakers what they're missing, i hope the lakers beat miami though so we wouldn't hear shaq talkin' crap again.
