Tracy Mcgrady's. Why? Tracy McGrady is the one controling the team. Yao is still learning , McGrady is a Veteran and is can control the game.
Right now, it's McGrady's. He can take over games whenever he feels like it and he will get the green light from Van Gundy anytime. However, it's clear that they are shaping the team to make it Yao's for the future. In about two years, Yao Ming will be the player every play passes through.
It looks like it's going to be Tracy's team which I have some issues with. If Tracy is going to take the majority of the shots, he needs to make them GOOD shots. Most of the time he settles for turnaround or off balance pull up jumpers without even penetrating to test the defense first. He could easily get to the basket most of the time but would rather just shoot a jumper...I don't get it. On that note, he takes too many shots on or just inside the 3 point line. Take a damn 3 if you're going to shoot from there you doofus! I think he can handle double teams better than Yao at this point in their careers, so it would make sense to put the ball in Tracy's hands and draw the defense so that Yao is faced with more one on one matchups.
I agree. McGrady has the ability to be the best player in the league, but he also might become another Vince Carter. Currently, he's more content taking the outside shot rather than drawing some fouls by driving, which is essentially what Carter is doing now. I'd rather T-Mac just be an offensive threat and make things easier for Yao, rather than Yao making it easy for him.

Heres the catch, by driving inside, it makes greater chance of him getting injured with the big men smashing is body to the ground. Soo.. which would you rather have, an injured Tracy for a couple of weeks or one that hits a three in a game and some jump shots? That way, it actually draws the attention to the high post and away from Yao. Plus, with McGrady driving, theres gonna be plenty of double teams there around Yao, bulking up the low post, so there really isn't any room for it. VG's team, he controls how the players play, execute, and their defense.
Please don't get into this discussion anymore. In my opinion its just lake their motto. United We Win Thats the way it should be. And I hope thats what Yao and T-Mac are trying to do.

The whole "driving causes more injuries" argument is pretty weak, I must say. Go to the basket and score. Kobe seemed pretty damn capable of doing it with Shaq. And if you're worried about clogging the lane, take Yao outside where the defense has to spread to respect his range, then Tracy should have a field day. Even if they slide over to help on him, he can kick it to Yao for 15 footers, which he knocks down consistantly.
as long as jvg is here it's his team.......I know phil jackson is just sitting and waiting on jvg to fail so he can come in coach tmac and yao in their primes
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM:</div><div class="quote_post">as long as jvg is here it's his team.......I know phil jackson is just sitting and waiting on jvg to fail so he can come in coach tmac and yao in their primes</div> lol, I think that would be awesome. The triangle offense on the rebound. =)
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It's Van Gundy's team.</div> I agree, the only way the Rockets will go far is by realizing it isn't anybody's team. McGrady and Yao can make it easier for themselves by feeding of each other (kicking out after double teams, etc.).
ya i agree with sniper....if ur afraid to get injured...just get off the court... u don't see pierce kobe iverson just shoot jump shots all day... and this is why vince and tmac r not playing to their full potential bc they r afraid to drive in..and get contact
Its t-macs team but if he gave the ball to Yao more Yao could get better to make for a more dominant team
It's JVG's team, but Tmac's running the show. However, if you want Yao to learn how to dominate on a consistent basis, how else are u gonna do that besides dumping the ball to him every single time? Maybe we won't be as good for now, but Yao will learn and hopefully develop as time goes.
