We are almost to the Christmas break, and I am interested to see what people think about the top performers so far. Right now, I am doing the guard position, and the forward position will come later. Here is mine:

    PG- Steve Nash, Phoenix Suns. (15.7ppg, 11apg, .531 FG%)

Yes, Steve Nash is currently the NBA's best guard. His Suns team are an incredible 21-3, and Nash is the conductor of a beautiful orchestra of running and gunning. He only averaging 16 points per game, but his league-leading 11 assists per game are where his impact is truly measured. You need more evidence? Look at the explosion of Amare Stoudemire. The kid must think that all of his birthdays have come at once, simply run the floor, catch and posterise some poor opposing center. Right now, no guard in the NBA is playing better than Steve Nash.

    SG - LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers. (24.8ppg, 6.9rpg, 6.7apg)

At 19 years old, second year phenom Lebron James has improved over his first year campaign. His Cavaliers squad, reeling from the loss of Carlos Boozer in the offseason (a move which many predicted would prevent the Cavaliers from reaching the playoffs) are currently sitting at 14-10, good for 2nd in the East. James has been nothing short of spectacular all season long so far, although he has tailed off slightly in the last week or so. However, his leadership abilities and the Cavs start means that he earns the top shooting guard on my list.

    Forwards coming soon!

    My thoughts:

Nash is the NBA's best PG, but as in Guards IMO that belongs to Kobe and Wade. I would also say LeBron but he's played the SF spot throughout most of the season. But I see the All-Star ballots also have him as a Guard [IMG]

Nice writeups though, keep up the good work [IMG]
