Well, its halftime in the game before I realized there wasn't a game thread on this. So, sorry but I don't have time to post anything that in depth about the game so far but the score at halftime is 61-57 Dallas lead so far. Leading Scorers for each team are: Houston- Yao Ming with 13 points and 3 rebounds Dallas- Dirk Nowitski with 16 points and 1 rebound. Thats it for now.
Great win for the Rockets. Howard has been scoring really well the last several games with that outside jumper. Glad to see JVG kept him in the game throughout the 4th quarter. McGrady had two phenomenal games in a row. Let's hope we can keep the offense rolling.
Anyone notice Tracy McGrady barking at Mutombo after he messed up on the offensive end? I LOVE that. Mutombo shook his head in agreement at what Tracy said, and it was a great example of how McGrady is really becoming a leader of this team. There aren't many players in the league who are playing as well as McGrady is right now. Juwan is coming around, Yao is blocking shots, and Mo Taylor is getting less and less minutes! I'm happy.
Wow juwan howard exceeded MY expectations this game. He was truly amazing with his usually unreliable mid range shot. Tonight his midrange jumper was goin in like peja's 3s. Just amazing game by Juwan. Tmac was the guy who sparked the blowout, great game! Tmac first sparked us to take a lead and then when it went down to a 4 pt houston lead..he started makin 3s and we never looked back. He was truly unselfish when he couldnt find his shot in the 1st half too..he finished with 11 assistS! Yao played pretty good too..he didnt force any shots which is good since usually he forces shots and misses them when hhe gets doubled. This time he was finding open spaces and not relying totally on posting up and gettin doubled so he had more space this time and drew fouls and scored a lot of easy inside baskets. Something a 7'6 guy should do. Bradley played pretty good in the 1st half..but it didnt last. He should look at more yao ming tapes..at least he's improved a little. ohl... dont want to forget abt wesley..he was such a great defender and scorer..i mean any1 he guarded were shooting bad too. Don't know if JJ would have kept finley way BELOW his season averages. Hmmm what should I say ..I told you SO??
Good defense and great second half run by the Rockets. Imagine if they would be shooting like that every night. They made 61% of their field goals. Although Dallas shot 52% from the 3 point area they miss a lot on the inside. Looks like the Rockets are trasforming into an offensive/defensive combo team. I hope they keep their momentum running especially against high scoring teams. It feels good to get a win tonight.

He wasn't taking that shot early in the year, and instead was just posting up a lot. Now, his primary role in the offense is to nail that shot, which is definitely something we needed. If only Mo Taylor would do the same thing consistently instead of hold the ball and take a dumb fadeaway with a man in his face, we'd be really good. To his credit, Taylor has been playing better the last few games as well.
great game by the rockets...played very well, and shot very well...however, as much as I am loving the versatility on offense, I find them not as focused and determined on the defensive end...they still dont box out and they dont play aggressively on defense...they only have spurts of hustle but dont commit themselves for 48 minutes...
This was a great and fun game to watch. both teams were attacking the basket full on and it's very nice to see that we played an up tempo attacking game. We broke our season scoring record twice in two games now. Juwan and Wesley were hitting their shots with Tracy attacking the rim in the second half. Also good game for Yao. Four people scored 20 points or more. great game overall.
That game was great, one of the only games I got to see live, I watched it with friends it was amazing we were all saying "WTF! Howard is on fire!" It seemed like everything he shot was going to go in! Mcgrady played awesome as well, great win, great win...

Sorry for not getting the preview in guys, I was away all of last night and didn't realize I had a scheduled preview, thanks Aznxballer for starting the thread. On to the game, what a great win by the Rockets! We've now beat two very potent teams in Denver and Dallas in a row, and McGrady's performance has been phenomenal the past two games. Hopes he keeps it up against New Jersey. If Yao can be a consistent force on offense and the boards, the Rockets should be ready to lift off.
Damn folks we just seen the rockets best performance this year and this thread isn't full yet........but on to the game...........the rockets really look like they're clicking out there..........although david wesley is small he muscles up with a lot of guys bigger than him and he presents a problem on the offensive side of the floor....and yes I love how Tmac was leading the way last night.....I'm not saying the rockets are instantly title contenders (cause they're not), but they played with a swagger last night....and I actually thought the D was pretty good, Finley scored 11 garbage points so the score is a bit decieving......hope we can keep it up tonight against the nets.....go rockets!!!
