this is an easy win for the Rockets, i disagree with you on Sura being even with Stoudamire, but yeah.. Rockets are on fire and the Blazers are playing horrible, so yeah.. Rockets 100 Blazers 85
It's a weekend, they've won 6 in a row, and it's one of those Guys Night Out games so hopefully it'll be a sellout crowd that'll give them some energy. Van Gundy has challenged them to win every game up to the all-star break, so I'm sure they're aren't looking past the Blazers. They aren't happy with 6 straight. No prediction from me, cuz I haven't been giving any in a while and we all know how they've been playing lately.
We are on a winning streak- everyone has been hot and has been playing great as a team. The Blazers meanwhile have some major chemistry problems and haven't really got it going. It should be a win for us, but we should never underestimate teams- they can always come back and surprise you. Hopefully, Houston plays tough and relentless- to give us a seven game winning streak.
We've underestimated teams in the past, and it has cost us dearly, although that was before we hit such great form. I expect the Rockets to have a comfortable win, but as usual, all bets are off. Remember, Damon has the quicks, and Ratliff has some real strength. Its actually a lethal combination if they're surrounded with the right players. I'm expeially worried about what Ratliff can do to Yao, but if Blazers play the double team, our role players are MORe than competent enough. GOOD LUCK BOYS!!
Now THAT was ugly, but I'll take a win on any night when we don't hit a single 3-pointer (0-11) and the other team hits 8 of 13. Good to get a bad game out of their system while still finding a way to get the win. Hopefully it was a bit of a wakeup call for a team that may have been feeling a little too confident lately.
The rockets are playing well, but need to learn how to finish games. The fact that they are scoring alot is what is basically keeping them from losing these comeback games. Good to see a win although.
Another W, best streak and best L 10. Not bad, but why are we going to suffer so much in the 4th quarter in any match?
Our 4th quarter performances have been dreadful over almost every game in the past week. It's good that we're coming out strong though, hopefully our team can work on it.
Yes I know we suck at 4th quarters lately. Things vary for us but we still get the win. Other games we start terrible and play well in the 4th. The past 2-3 games we started well and lost our huge lead in the 4th. This game was the worst because we had the worst shooting night. 0-11 from our beloved 3 pt line isn't good at all. ANyways, how do we get more ppl to join this forum. I see the same 4-5 ppl in here every time and it kinda gets boring. BTW i 'd like to know the # of posts i've made..it used to show under our screen name. EDIT: oh i found it inside my profile. But it would be better if it was under my SN. I got 300 quality posts..I rule
Yeah, this match was a horrible win for us, can't believe how many games we've been leading by double digits but end up blowing the lead and only winning when it goes down to the wire. In a positive note, I think Yao has improved a bit, Juwan is becoming the PF we need and Bob Sura is becoming even more of a triple double threat!
Ugly or not, a win is a win. I'll take a win where we play ugly rather than a loss in a heroic effort. It's good to see Yao gain some recent form, but McGrady's shooting slump is drawing my concern. The team had trouble with shooting and free throws, but luck helped steer us through this one. Hopefully, this will serve as a wake-up call for us and remind us that we are not undefeatable.
yeah I heard Van Gundy's post game comments and he wasn't happy with the teams performace over the past few games..........he basically said that it kinda scares him that they win the games were they play bad, because that gives the team a false sense of accomplishment..............I kinda agree, we should've blown them out just like we should've blown the Lakers out last week.........we can't expect to do this against good teams and win.........fortunately the blazers are the blazers
Horrible game for Houston. Everyone had a bad night except for maybe Yao, Howard, and Sura. I'm really loving how Yao has stepped up on his game while Howard has picked up his defensive game- showing glimpses of the player Cato was last year. But, as everyone has said before, all the other players had horrible shooting nights including Wesley and Barry, not making any three pointers at all. In addition to that, McGrady doesn't really seem to be playing with passion anymore. He just pops up jumpers whenever he feels like it and it has resulted in his long shooting slump. I just hope this will be a wake up call and he picks up his game- we're going to be facing Washington next, which is a great team. Also, we'll be facing some of the toughest teams in the next few games, so I just hope Houston can keep up this winning streak.
Very-very ugly win for the Rockets. I was watching at the Toyota Center last night. Though the first half was exciting to watch wherein they held the Blazers to under 30% shooting. In the second half things were starting to fall out for the Rockets. They were outscored 52 to 37. They didn't even converted any of their 3 point shots. McGrady looks lazy to dominate the ball game. Important free throws are being missed. Too bad. It's a good thing Mighty Mouse has missed his long 3 point shot at the buzzer but it nearly went in. I just hope the Rockets will try to be more assertive next time to protect their lead. They have confidence and experience. If they continue to play poorly in end game situation they might run out of luck to even win a 1 point contest. Playing against the Wizzards would provide more challenge for the Rockets especially to TMAc to get back in his usual offensive form.
