WE WON A GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We killed the nets on the boards(sorry henacy) which has been a major problem for the TW.....wow kandi man had a good game which we all now is shocking...Mchale tied the tws records for fewest game played to get his first coachisng win. Great effort tonight lets see if this will continue against leborn and the cavs on thursday night.
Apparently Flip and Kandi never got along well and that Flip just couldn't coach them. If anyone can take a center who is entirely dependent on his post moves and is relatively immobile and make him into a good player, it is Kevin McHale, so that perhaps having McHale as headcoach will be good for Kandi. If Kevin can get get him to average 12 and 10, gets rid of Spree and Cassell and get something, anything, in return, I think that he may do a decent job as coach, at least for the short term. Goodluck McHale and congrats on win #1!
When Kandi plays like hes suppose to, we win. Who would have thought?? Im not gonna say that this means Kandi will play like that all the time, but he needs to for this team to succeed.
MCHALE IS VICTORIOUS How about it? The Timberwolves won! The Timberwolves won! The Timberwolves won! Holy mackeral. McHale gets win #1 of his coaching career. I am sure he is enjoying all of this as he soak up this win. He deserves to celebrate. He did a good job I thought of managing this game and getting his message across to the players. I thought this game was going to be the usual blowout and laydown by the Timberwolves. It sure looked that way when the Nets led 19-5 in the first quarter. Whatever happened after that is beyond me. Whatever McHale said to the team was working as the team turn on the switch after the Nets 19-5 lead. It was a different Timberwolves team from then. It started with Michael Olowokandi setting the tone with his defense and his ability to score from the paint. Others started following Michael's lead. After the way the Wolves were misfiring and shooting jumpers to start the first quarter, they started to go to the hole and make things happen. KG was all over the paint in the second quarter and the entire second half. Heck even Latrell and Troy started to score from the paint. Whatever McHale said seem to have an effect on the players for one night because they responded and listened to his directions. Olowokandi definitely was inspired by McHale's talk all night long and it worked. The Kandi Man was very good for one night. He was the reason why the Wolves won as I said. He was a presence in the paint offensively and defensively. He did a very good job tonight and the fans gave him an ovation. When you saw the good things he did tonight, why is it he can't seem to do this consistently. It's really a mystery. I am sure he is playing hard, but he just seems to have problem with the mental aspect of the game. That's something McHale really needs to do in getting Michael to be consistent. KG was fantastic tonight too. I really loved how he went to the hole and did lot of damage to the Nets. I wish he would score from the paint consistently than shooting jumpers. Fred was on fire all night in the three-point line. Wally was fantastic. Latrell was solid. I look for Anthony Carter to start now. It seems he loves to pass and find the open guy while Troy just receivers the ball, dribble, and then shoots. I hope McHale will remember that. The defense was great as they were swarming on the Nets all night long, but then again no one on the Nets scored much outside of Carter, Kidd, and Mercer. Everyone played great. McHale got the most out of his players tonight as everyone contributed. He did a good job getting them involved too. I gotta give him credit for one night. The Nets announcers really talked about McHale's rah-rah speech and his intensity in a negative light. Ian Eagle, the fine Nets play-by-play man, wondered how his rah-rah speech is going to work every night. I think that will be interesting. Sooner or later, the players might be tuned out. They also had a problem with McHale working up with the refs. I don't mind talking to the refs a lot and I am glad he did that, but I hope he learns to choose his spots. Also they ripped McHale for yelling at Jason Collins and then for giving the ref an applause for overturning the call in which the ball went out of bounds as the Nets touched it last. They make great points. Hopefully, McHale can control his emotions and all. This is a learning process for a coach. Oh and is it me or did McHale seemed to age 20 years from the sidelines. I guess losing took a toll on him from the stands too. You know the Wolves are stinking when Sid Hartman (long-time columinst for the Star-Tribune) was not even at the game. Sid is always at the games at the Target Center. He never miss em. Of course, it goes to show you how bad the team is for him not to come. With that said, great job by McHale and the Timberwolves. My hat is off to him and the Wolves for one night. They should savor this win. I know I enjoyed this win and this game. It was like old times of last year.

The Nets are not a good rebounding team either, especially when they go small only using one big like they did much of the night. Kandiman made his presence felt in the first half against Jersey's small frontline. You probably wont hear much from Kandi for the rest of febuary, he feels he has done his work for the month all last night. I do agree the offense flows much better with AC in the game, he does the better job of getting the ball & pushing up court past the timeline giving the Wolves more time to operate and set up the half-court offense. And he is much more willing to drive & kick. Iam not for sure if he will start tho....I think Mchale continues to go with Hudson because if T-Hud is making his shots early then that usually means a big offensive night from him. And the Wolves need that scoring spark especially with Sammy out. But if T-Hud doesnt establish himself early, then I do think alot of the key minutes will go to AC, similar to last night.

What's the problem with that? He will tone it down eventually though. Seeing him excited made me happy. I just thought it was a little humorous to see him (Like when Griffen made that dunk). I was like, I'm glad your ecstatic for your guy doing his job. It was an interesting moment.
phew finally a WIN! now i can break my vow of not posting till we win one game. to be honest, i was really depressed when Flip was fired. being a timberwolf fan for the last 5 years, i was initially skeptical of Mchale replacing our beloved Flip. but now seem i have to take back my words. can anyone fill me in on how the timberwolves' situation is?
Well don't get so pumped up because it's only one game. The team still has to win some more games before I'm ready to say their back. At moments it seemed they got their swagger back but they still have a long way to go. They played with more intensity and emotion than usual and that's great. It was kind of funny to see how reacted after each play. The Kandi had a great first half and was one of the reason for this win but I'm not sure if he'll play this way anytime soon. He'll have a good game onee in a while and then disapear. Great win and I hope it will only be the first of many more victories in the new Mchale era.

Linkin: I am alwas excited when the Wolves win. The Wolves are like a treasure to me. When they lose, I get depressed. When they win, I am in a great mood. I love the team just like NBATV's Rick Kamala loves the team. I expect Kandi to do bad against the Cavs on TNT.
