I don't think that it's happened in the post-player/coach era.
Lenny Wilkens was player/coach for like four years in the late-60's/early-70's and Dave Cowens did it in 1979... presumably players...
This is how I feel, too. I don't think that the team is very good if we add Gortat, and I don't see it getting a lot better in the years after adding Gortat.
If we could acquire him just for cap...
That's because it seems you are one who believes in expanding the language to further your own politics, rather than allowing society to dictate what words actually mean.
Ed O.
But is it context from an external perspective or from the person saying the words?
I am careful when I speak and I attempt to be respectful, but I don't believe that language can be dictated only...
Because when you broaden something that is bad to the point of being irrelevant to almost everyone, it waters down the stuff that is ACTUALLY bad. "Homophobic" casts such a wide net these days that,...
It's tough with the Blazers not being what they once were and with the crazy diffusion of communication channels to get back to the golden age...

Did someone say "posters from back in the day"?

"No homo" in that context seems to be similar to "that's what she said". Is "that's what she said" anti-woman?
The term "homo" might be offensive to some people, I suppose, but the term "gay" was...
He's like the Wilt Chamberlain of exorcists.

Well, that makes sense since the rest of them are dumb.

They all were borderline all-stars that didn't win anything of significance until they turned 30. Then they started winning rings.
C'mon, man. Try to keep up!

So we've had at least two down years, and then if the team adds a couple of pieces this summer, there's a chance we'll be mediocre and then the year after THAT we'll be really good?
Wow. Yeah,...
He seems like a bit of a tweener SF/PF... and one who's not a very good shooter nor very athletic.
I hope he's off the board before we pick, because while I like his youth and the skills he does...
Why would another team give us the same level of player as Aldridge?
Another team looking to acquire Aldridge would either need depth at a position where they could afford to move an...
Wherever the source of the he/it stuff comes from... I find it to be distasteful and unnecessary.
Switching gears: does anyone really think that she will change perceptions about women's...
This thread is... odd. :)
The notion that Nancy Reagan pushed a petty criminal and drug user into heavier stuff is laughable.
My favorite quote is: "He turned out to be a good kid until he got...
Lots of people are killed over Easter Bunny-related things, so we have to be careful there.

This is simply not true. If the IRS was requiring more information to be given during the application process, those costs have to be borne by the organization whether the information is "bad" or...
I don't know if Gobert is the guy or not, but I agree that going young (Myers + someone?) makes more sense than getting a guy who's $10m+ a year, around eight years older, and not good enough to make...
