FANTASY DUNKS AND AIR BALLS:

    The Dunks --

Jamaal Tinsley, Pacers: Enjoy him while he is healthy! It may only last a week or two. Tinsley got off to a great, healthy start by coming painfully close to a triple-double in his opening contest with 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists against Washington.

Manu Ginobili, Spurs: Michael Finley might start, but Ginobili is the San Antonio shooting guard with the best fantasy value. One of fantasy's favorite sixth men was superb in the Spurs' first two wins, accounting for 46 points, 15 assists, eight rebounds and seven steals.

LaMarcus Aldridge, Trail Blazers: Greg Oden's loss looks to be Aldridge's gain. With more room to roam down on the low blocks, Aldridge should get the bulk of the passes around the paint. In his first game of the season the kid scored 27 points on 12-for-19 shooting.

    The Air Balls

Mehmet Okur, Jazz: Penciled in as one of the top centers in fantasy basketball before the season, Okur could not have started slower unless he was dead. In his opening outing he went pointless in 16 minutes of action and had as many turnovers as he did rebounds (three). Okur fared better in his second game as he posted a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds).

LeBron James, Cavaliers: "King" deserves to be crowned for what he did in Cleveland's Halloween night loss. James got off on the wrong foot by only scoring 10 points thanks to a misfire-laden 2-for-11 shooting night. More performances like this and he will trail Grady Sizemore as Cleveland's most popular athlete.

Mo Williams, Bucks: Williams certainly did not live up to his humongous offseason contract with his Game One performance. While backcourt teammate Michael Redd was his usual brilliant fantasy self, Williams scored nine points and handed out just one assist. Andrew Bogut, not exactly known for his point guard-like passing, had four assists in the game.

Rot Water Cooler Three things being talked about more than David Stern's idea to eliminate time outs late in games.

Yi Jianlian first NBA game: If personal fouls is a positive category in your fantasy league, you might want to pick up this 6-11 Chinese foul machine. Jianlian fouled out of his first game, and he did not waste time doing it. He was only on the floor for 25 minutes before being disqualified. Jianlian might have finished with some decent numbers if he kept his hands to himself. He ended up with nine points (4-of-5 shooting), three boards and two blocked shots.

Minnesota signing Al Jefferson to a five-year, $65 million contract extension: Kudos to Jefferson for not being greedy, as he could have waited and probably received the maximum money if he inked a deal next year. Hopefully Antoine Walker does not find out because the last thing Walker needs is Jefferson taking him out to dinner.
