Just last week, he was a three-star prospect, and now, he finds himself ranked as the 39th best player in the country. At 6'1" he is a very interesting prospect at corner. Rarely do you see corners with that size, who still have the speed that Alonzo possesses. He was recently named to the 1st Team, All State for Mississippi and is a finalist for the Mr. Football Award. I do not know of any leaders in his recruitment.</div>
From the rivals site, Alonzo was awarded "Bets Cover Skills" of those corners who participated in the Alabama-Mississippi All Star Game. He supposedly did well against Mississippi teammate DeAndre Brown during practice and also performed well against the top receiver in the country, Julio Jones, during the game itself.
From the 'Bama rivals site, Lawrence mentions Alabama, Mississippi, and LSU as his top 3; however, he does not mention a leader among the schools. He mentions the fact 'Bama has been with him ever since the beginning, even before he was rocketed into the national spotlight.
From CaneSport.com, Alonzo's coach says he's visiting Miami this weekend and mentions that Alonzo is still struggling to qualify.
From rivals, Alonzo's coach talks about his recruitment and how Lawrence's recruiting blew up throughout the year.
Lawrence is set to announce tomorrow between Alabama, Mississippi, Miami, and LSU. I have no idea which school is the most likely destination.
