<td><font face="verdana" size="1">Cotton led his team to a state championship game his junior year. He threw for 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns, while rushing for 600 yards and 8 more touchdowns. He committed to Auburn on April 1, 2008.

Cotton has a solid frame and is very athletic for his size. He is a very physical quarterback and has no problem bulldozing through the defense when he scrambles. He has a very good arm and is a major threat with the long ball. His delivery is a little unorthodox, but he has little wasted motion and usually gets the ball where it needs to be. He throws very well on the run when outside the pocket. Should be a great player for Auburn in the future.</font></td>

Cotton finished third in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, and his 400 relay team finished second at the state track championships last year.

Cotton's father, Raymond Sr., is an officer in the Coast Guard and is being transferred to Fort Meade.

"I've definitely heard about Ray," Clelland said. "I'm looking forward to meeting him and his family. That's one of the advantages to being here. But at the same time, we can lose one of those kids. I think it can go both ways."

Meade is routinely forced to shuffle its athletic rosters because of military transfers.</div>

Cotton has been invited to the prestigious Elite 11 Camp held from July 21-24 in Southern California.

Several quarterbacks have big days to open Elite 11 | ESPN

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>In terms of arm strength, the two guys with the most heat on their ball were easily Zach Mettenberger (Watkinsville, Ga./Oconee County) and Raymond Cotton (Fort Meade, Md./Meade). Both players are in the 6-4, 230-pound range and can absolutely bring it when they need to.

Mettenberger was a little more consistent and was able to spin it a little better of the two. He's not as athletic as Cotton but with his size and arm is a very intriguing prospect. It will be interesting to see if both Metternberger and Murray still decide to stay committed to Georgia following this camp after a week to size each other up.

Cotton is a very intriguing player to watch. He might be the most raw of any quarterback here but also could have as much upside as anyone. He's a huge kid with a great arm but is athletic and moves around the field effortlessly. He's headed to Auburn where he should draw a lot of Jason Campbell comparisons over the next few years.</div>
