Maxwell has a nice frame with room to add more weight in his final year in high school. Has good pocket presence and avoids the rush fairly well. Footwork is decent and can throw on the run. He excels in the short passing game, though he does have the arm strength to deliver the ball downfield. Delivery is smooth and quick, but sometimes inconsistent. Can make some plays with his feet when the pocket collapses, but won't win many foot races. Worked mainly out of the shotgun in high school. While Maxwell doesn't "wow" you in most most aspects of the game, he rarely makes a mistake and should be a solid college quarterback. </font></td>

Do you know if he is invited to the Elite 11 camp?

Found a decent Youtube clip, as a freshman.

He hasn't been invited yet, but there are still 7 more spots left (they're taking 12 kids, I think) and he could very well get one of those spots. He won QB MVP at the Nike Camp in Fort Worth back in early May, so that helps his case immensely. And if you look at the five guys that have already been invited, they were all QB MVP's at their respective Camps:

Matt Barkley (Co-MVP at Los Angeles Nike Camp)
Zach Mettenberger (MVP at Tuscaloosa Nike Camp)
Aaron Murray (MVP at Gainesville Nike Camp)
Tom Savage (MVP at Penn State Nike Camp)
Eugene Smith (MVP at Miami Nike Camp and almost beat out Murray for MVP at Gainesville Nike Camp)

He should be ranked higher. He is a really good leader and throws a great ball. Look for him to do big things at MSU.

Big Frame, I think you'll like this:

Andrew has been invited to the prestigious Elite 11 Camp held from July 21-24 in Southern California.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>This will be the 10th year of the Elite 11, which has developed into the premier quarterback event in the nation. ESPN RISE Announces 2008 ELITE 11 Quarterback Field

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Andrew Maxwell, 6-3, 192 lbs., Midland (Mich.)
A nationally underappreciated talent from Michigan who is a very well-rounded pocket passer. Already a three-year starter under center who took his Midland team all the way to the Michigan Division 2 state title game this past fall. A cerebral passer with great awareness and presence on the field knows his reads and gets the ball out very quickly - also a great student off-the-field with a 4.3 GPA and 28 ACT score. Stood out this spring at both the EA SPORTS Elite 11 regional camp and Nike Camp at TCU in late April, where he overcame several very good Texas QBs to earn MVP honors. Is just the third quarterback from Michigan to be selected to the Elite 11 in the event's 10 years. Committed to Michigan State in early March.

2007 Stats: 134 of 262 passing for 2,024 yards and 18 touchdowns with just seven interceptions in 14 games.</div>

Maybe he can help erase all the terrible Bryan Hoyer memories...
And after all of this I am amazed, that I am cursed far more than I am praised

Elite 11 Day One: Every's Top Six Performers | rivals.com

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Andrew Maxwell, 6-3, 192 PQB Midland (MI) Midland

Assets: Has a quick release and good spin on his passes.

What was most impressive on Monday: He was very consistent and has good feet.

On the Hoof: He is a very lean, athletic-looking prospect who has wide shoulders and a frame that can add at least 20 more pounds.

Conclusion: Without a doubt, the top signal caller in the state of Michigan and perhaps Big Ten territory. He is someone Michigan State can build a solid team around.</div>

Several quarterbacks have big days to open Elite 11 | ESPN

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Another player who had a solid all-around camp was Michigan State commit Andrew Maxwell (Midland, Mich.). At 6-3, 195 pounds, Maxwell has a great frame and was as consistent as anyone. With his newly-shaved head, he was tough to recognize at first but made a quick impression on all the coaches.

"He was good in every drill," James said. "He makes quick decisions and is a decisive player on the field. He knows where to go with the ball and can make all the throws. I like him a lot and feel he'll have a great week here."</div>
